Enchantment Questions..Sailing in a few more weeks and excitement is building

We are going on our 1st RCC cruise (Enchantment) in a few more weeks(4 day). So excited but no idea what to expect...

Would like to hear different opinions on the shows, any must see's?

Is the Windjammer a buffet in the evening?, Any problems with seating?

Is the food comparable to the MDR? Is there bar service?

Pools on board: Are they fresh or salt water?

Coco Cay- Must do's and see's?

Nassau- Would like to do the beach but what is the water temp in Nov? Any suggestions as to where to go...I'm sure Atlantis is beautiful but a bit too expensive this time. Ideas please!!!

Enchantment is our favorite ship! We haven't been on her since her refurbishment, but she was beautiful before it.

Windjammer has a buffet in the evening. Haven't ever been in the evening, because the dining room is our favorite. Maybe somebody else can answer your other questions.

Coco Cay - Walk past where all the people are if you'd like some privacy and quiet. But grab a coco-loco first because the bar waiters won't be coming by. Also, walk the nature trail. There is a small straw market, so bring a few dollars because you can't pay with your seapass card. It's mostly trinkets and such. There is a big buffet lunch around noon. Don't delay in going, because they will pack it up. Beware of the seagulls! One swooped down and grabbed my hotdog right out of the bun!!!

Nassau - Water temp may be a little cool, but the beach will be warm if it's sunny. We've been to both British Colonial Hilton and the Sheraton, and both were fine, but you have to buy a day pass. Junkanoo Beach is the free beach and we're going to try it next time. It has gotten varying reviews.

If you like history, google a walking tour of Nassau. There are a couple of forts, the Queen's Staircase is interesting, and the government buildings are pretty.

Go to the Bahamas board for lots more information about Nassau. And join your roll call, if you haven't already. Have a great cruise!!

I was on the Enchantment in Sept as a last minute deal too good to pass up. As you can see in my sig, I've been on every class of RCL ship. I was not expecting a lot on a 4 day cruise but the Enchantment was a pleasant surprise. The cruise director "Bing Bong" Mark Walker is one of best in fleet. The entertainment offered was at the same high level as the longer cruises, all very well done, cruise director staff were all high energy, lots going on at all times. Captain Gus was all over the ship talking to folks, he even participated in some activities. The ship itself is great, very clean, lots of glass. Many places to just sit and look out, or find a quiet place to read. My inside cabin was very comfortable, lots of storage, just hate the old cloth shower curtains. In most cabins you'll need a card with a mag strip to operate the safe, don't use a credit card or seapass, anything with a mag strip will work (library card, grocery store card etc. ).

As to activities, the 70s Disco Party was a real hoot. The Haines magic show was the usual stuff, but he had us really guessing a few times. The Love & Marriage Game Show was a waste this time, one couple had a dud of a husband and there were some drunks in the audience that ruined it. On sea day there was a new movie showing in the theater. Production shows were usual RCL. All of the usual cruise stuff - belly flop contest, dancing on pool deck, buffets poolside, staff cake decorating contest etc

I had signed up for MTD and had such good table mates we sat together each night. Waiter and assistant were excellent. The Windjammer food was very good, staff really works hard on keeping it up, never had a problem finding table except on embark lunch. It is buffet at dinner, but lower lighting and table clothes, don't know about bar service there. Try the Solarium for salads and sandwiches.

I don't go ashore at Coco Cay, in Nassau I just catch a cab to the Atlantis Casino.

The Enchantment will be my "need to get out of town" ship.

Have fun, you will become a "cruise addict" in no time.

Just to add, the pools and hot tubs on board are saltwater.

Also, we only went to the windjammer for lunch on the first day - but the buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food in the MDR was excellent.

You will have a great time!

We loved our Grandeur cruise (sister ship of Enchantment), you'll have a fantastic time. You may want to check out the bungee trampolines on Deck 10. I believe that the Enchantment is the only RCI ship that offers this activity.

The windjammer is a buffet all the time. For dinner, they may put tableclothes on the tables. You will still have to serve yourself. There may be some MDR items, but not all.

Pools are salt water...hot tubs are chlorinated water.

Coco Cay is the private island...there are no "must sees or dos"....it's a beach day! Enjoy it! Very relaxing.

We just sailed 3 Enchantment cruises in a row this month.....of the 3 pools, one is freshwater, the other 2 are saltwater. Saltwater is in the solarium pool and the pool most forward. The middle one was freshwater.

We had a Junior Suite, and we did have a refrigerator.

The Windjammer is available for dinner, and we used it. One night they offered stir-fry!

Just off EnOTS 10/25, this was our first cruise and had a descent time. Coco Cay is a good place to snorkel and enjoy the day at the beach. I recommend an excursion at Nassau, to Atlantis or Blue Lagoon Island.

On the ship, if you want to see the shows, get there early. Seating fills up fast. wait til the third or fourth day to buy from the shops as prices will drop. The outside screen showed football on monday and thursday night :( You may have seen others post to only pack half of what you think you'll need, this is true. I didn't think so, but now I know it's true:) Have a great time!
