stephlovesdogs Posted November 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2013 We are sailing on the Riviera in December. Is there a way to find out what the entertainment will be on each night of the cruise? We scheduled our specialty reservations for 6:30 so we can make the entertainment each night, but would prefer to eat later if the entertainment on a specific night isn't something we would be interested in. Rare LHT28 Posted November 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2013 When you board the ship ask the CD then you could adjust your dining reservations (if space available)
Haven12.5 Posted November 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2013 We just returned from Marina, and assuming a similar schedule, all of the entertainment in the large lounge was scheduled for 9:45 pm, so that shouldn't conflict with your specialty dinner reservations. As I recall, 6:30 pm was the earliest option anyway. Send from device_name using Cruise Critic your_app_name App
Rare ronrick1943 Posted November 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Entertainment? I would rather have a drink at the bar and enjoy friends, then go back to the room, get dressed and have dinner around 7:30PM taking our time--then off to one of the bars or dance lounge--it's just personal, but that's better entertainment for us than the shows they have on the ship. But that's just us. Rick

Rick You are right ..it is a personal preference We have seen some very good solo performers on the ships that we did enjoy We have also met some lovely people that we could sit & chat with after dinner It all depends on the day ;) Lyn

Rare Acrusa Posted November 8, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2013 This comming Feb 2014 will be our first time on the Marina. We have been on 5 R ship cruises. When we went to the shows it was more of an intimate setting.More like the old fashioned cabaret lounge. Rare ronrick1943 Posted November 8, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Trust me, it's not a Cabaret on the Marina. Rick
Rare Acrusa Posted November 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Trust me, it's not a Cabaret on the Marina.Rick Yes we realised that when we where invited for lunch on the Marina this May when it was docked in New York Harbor. We roamed around the ship and noticed the theater where the shows take place. Also the library did not look as inviting as on the R ships.

This summer we enjoyed a terrific comedian which is probably the hardest genre to please an audience. First show was well attended and SRO after that. The Entertainment Crew were also well-honed. Same shows as we have seen several times and having preformed them so often they should be well rehearsed but they kept of the energy as it it were new. We also enjoy conversation with so many interesting table mates and sometimes just a quiet moment on deck. As per Paulchili, there are several flavours. The entertainment not too good anyway. We eat about 8 PM so usually do not care to see the shows.
