canadarocks Posted November 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2013 We'll be aboard the Emerald on a B2B next March and I'd like to know which ports are worth getting up very early for? Can anyone tell me if any of the following ports are especially memorable for the Sail In? Aruba, Bonaire, Grenada, Dominica, St Thomas, Fort Lauderdale, Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados, and St Kitts. Thanks in advance! :)

chrysalis Posted November 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2013 In St. Lucia, the ship passes the Twin Pitons and some lovely inlets and bays. Not always...depends on the order of the ports. Coming from Antigua, it does not pass the Pitons.
skynight Posted November 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2013 Sleep in. What you miss on sail ins you can see on sail outs.

We will be coming from Antigua. :( Sleep in. What you miss on sail ins you can see on sail outs. With some ports it does make a difference, but perhaps not in the Caribbean? chrysalis Posted November 9, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2013 We will be coming from Antigua. :( With some ports it does make a difference, but perhaps not in the Caribbean? We have done many B2Bs 10 days cruises in the area. Aruba is interesting (arriving or leaving) because of the narrow channel that the ship must navigate. Bonaire is interesting because you get a great view of Klein Bonaire where some of the best snorkeling is. Antigua offers some views and is has a very shallow channel. St Lucia offers in interesting harbour entrance and great views of the airport runway. If you do google earth of each of these ports, in advance, you will see what I mean.
