Transatlantic Tom Posted July 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2005 I just happened to notice that QE2 will be departing NY on September 13 for Southampton, and QM2 will be in NY on September 14, arriving from/returning to Southampton... An "Elizabeth" in port one day, and a "Mary" the next day....both bound for Southampton....Is this 1965 ??? Tom;)
cruznut Posted July 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2005 For the love of me I can't understand why they don't alternate runs across the Atlantic. NYC without the QE2 is like.... well I don't know what it is like I just know it stinks.
KenC Posted July 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2005 Hey Tom you old sentamentalist!!!! Glad to say that I will be one of those lucky pax arriving in NYC on QM2 on Sept 14. Cruznut Afraid QE2 is not up to constant heavy transatlantic wear and tear any more - her aluminium (aluminum) superstructure is too fatigued and costly to repair. KenC Posted July 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2005 Tom !!! If QE2 keeps going as long as the Ark then I'll be as old as Methusala before we get that drink on a quaint 'old QM2' !!! All the best Ken
