Dame Delilah Posted November 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2013 We will be on the Equinox over Easter/Passover in 2014. Will there be any special activities, displays, meals or religious services? We have been on Princess during this season once and enjoyed the displays, meals and events. Rare ghstudio Posted November 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) For our wonderful experience on the eclipse: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=29144221&highlight=passover#post29144221 Edited November 16, 2013 by ghstudio
kitty9 Posted November 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2013 It really seems to vary. On some X cruises, they've had Seder and Passover activities and on others, there was nothing.
phoenix_dream Posted November 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2013 It has been a number of years so it may have changed, but I have sailed on Easter Sunday a few times. There were no decorations, and no special meals. I had hoped for a more 'Easter-like' dinner in the MDR but it was the usual. I recall there being a minister or priest onboard who did do an Easter service, but that was it. Perhaps others have more current information. miched Posted November 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2013 We sailed during lent. Because it was lent no bars were open. They didn't have any shows. There were no deserts served. They made sure that your first two meals didn't equal the 3rd so the buffet wasn't open. There were no in between meal snacks. In fact all cruises should have been canceled because it was Lent. All joking aside you should read the FAQ section on the Celebrity website as it contains a lot of other usefull information and has a section about services available for the different faiths. We were on a cruise over Palm Sunday and there was a Catholic Priest so we could attend Mass, but there were no palms distributed so the passengers could braid them during the Mass. Don't know if they served the Easter bunny for dinner, as we weren't on a cruise over Easter. 🐰 . 🎅🎄
