SnowshoeCat Posted November 17, 2013 Author #27 Share Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the photos, boogs. I admit I "oohed" and "aahed" a bit at the Fascination atrium (I thought it was a night time photo), then cringed at the dining room. Why are the tables so big in the Constellations bar/lounge? It looks like a dining room. It looks like I'll be on the Constellation. That was my original plan, and that's usually the right choice. middlehaitch Posted November 17, 2013 #28 Share Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Having stayed in 3142, one of the new ocean view rooms on the Plaza Deck (3), I can highly recommend it, and the surrounding rooms, as a low cost OV. The window is over 5 ft in diameter. I know I stood in it and I am 5ft tall! Being next to a stair well it is handy to everything too. If a room in that area is not available try the ones at the other end close by the grand foyer. I hope you enjoy sailing on the Constellation I think it is in my favorite class of Celebrity ships. It would be wonderful too as it has just been refurbished. cheers, h. The Sunset Bar quite often has a Guitar player in the evenings and is a lovely spot to socialise. taglovestocruise Posted November 18, 2013 #29 Share Posted November 18, 2013 At the suggestion of some friends of mine, I would like to try Celebrity. I found a 5-night sailing that fit the bill during my vacation week, although it's a bit of a splurge. That same week, Carnival is offering the same itinerary, but without the single supplement. Even with changing my plane tickets, it will still be about $400 less than the Celebrity cruise. On the one hand, I like to get a bargain, but on the other, I'd like to treat myself to something special. Do you think the extra money will be worth it for just a 5-nighter, or save the splurge for something else? I'm driving myself a little crazy trying to decide ;) Thank you for any input. In life you usually get what you pay for.
