coldweathergirl Posted December 14, 2013 Author #26 Share Posted December 14, 2013 glad to hear your enjoying. we are booked for feb. Is the food good? how about entertainment?? and what do you do all day long on the ship?? We were in Aquaclass so dined in Blu. The food was fabulous. We had one dinner in Murano which was outstanding and another in Qsine which was also excellent. During the day we often ate at the buffet for lunch and there was a huge assortment of food. Something for everyone. It was all delicious. The poolside cheeseburgers were juicy and very tasty. There are so many activities to do on sea days that we were busy all the time. You can do as much or as little as you want. We just got off the eclipse today and I'm already missing her. It's going to be a rude awakening for me when I get home in a couple of days and get back on kitchen and housecleaning duties not to mention minus 40 weather......so glad I have a holiday on the Reflection mid January to look forward to. So happy you had a great cruise, we are on the 3/8 sailing and cannot wait. Do you happen to remember if they were discounting the specialty restaurants during your cruise. Trying to decide if we should book a 3-day package or just take our chances. Thanks
fishycomics Posted December 14, 2013 #28 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Deck 4, casino, smelled from ashes, needed Frabreeze big time, to mask the odor!. Did not hear many mention of slot winner or winners. Donations, plus one on that. Decorated deck 3 with a drum set, no Ginger bread house, yet. Today, tomorrow, maybe, they went up, maybe the Pointer setters will be there. A lot can be said, but been there before, the cruise could have been BETTER! Rare Texed Posted December 14, 2013 #29 Share Posted December 14, 2013 We sailed on the Nov 3 sailing and we are still missing all the attention and good food. Loved Perry G too. Off topic. I would like to know if the person who came up with YVR to mean Vancover was the same person that spelled Xerox without a "Z". :D

Trying to decide if we should book a 3-day package or just take our chances. Thanks Other than the first night discounts I don't recall seeing any but I wasn't really looking for them. We were originally only going to do Qsine with a group of CC friends but then also decided on an impromptu dinner in Murano with new friends that we met on board. There was a stale smoke smell in an area of the casino and in front of a couple of shops on deck 5 I believe. It must be a ventilation problem because there was no smoking allowed in those areas. I hate cigarette smoke and am super sensitive to it but didn't let it ruin my holiday. Certainly if I wanted to go out of my way and find fault with areas of the cruise I could have but I was on vacation enjoying myself and didn't feel that any blemishes were of any significance. C 2 C Posted December 14, 2013 #31 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Makes me wish we were going to be on board for the holidays. Would you be able to post the name of the senior officers on board. Could you find out if Graeme is still host at the end of January? Here in Southern Ontario we're experiencing snow and cold temperatures. Makes us appreciate cruising all the more. hurwitz5 Posted December 14, 2013 #34 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Will be sailing on the Eclipse on January 11 - can't wait. Who is the cruise director? Are they showing movies during the day on sea days? Have you signed up for any excursions? If so, are there any you recommend?

ladyflatlander Posted December 14, 2013 #37 Share Posted December 14, 2013 I'm sailing Eclipse in February over Valentine's Day and hearing what a great time you are having is adding to the excitement! I've only sailed on Solstice in her inaugural year and loved her so Eclipse should feel familiar. I'm really happy about the 14 day itinerary - my first longer cruise that should allow plenty of time to really get to know the ship! Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!! January 11 will be our first sailing the Eclipse. All the wonderful comments are music to our ears. We will be on sister ship, Silhouette, for Nov 1 TA. Looking forward to both. I left DH in charge of sorting out the dailies for packing so I'm hoping that the listing of who was sailing will be in the bags when we eventfully get home. I'll hopefully be able to let you know when I get home and unpacked in a few days. Ben did mention at our CC farewell party that he was leaving for another ship shortly (sorry can't remember for the life of me when and which ship) and Sue Denning will be back on. They hosted two CC get togethers for us. One on the morning of our first sea day and the second as a farewell on our last sea day. The Captain and all the senior officers were present at both. BSinPNS Posted December 15, 2013 #40 Share Posted December 15, 2013 On the previous cruise, Sue Denning was onboard and hoping to be back on in mid-February, but didn't have a contract yet. All commercial airports have "Y" as the first letter. More about the rationale at http://www.theloop.ca/travel/the-advisory/article/-/a/2741612/The-why-behind-the-Y-in-Canadian-airport-codes.
