kittyluvrnurse Posted December 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2013 What should we do if there are 8 ships in port, two them being "MEGA?" We aren't in to being inundated with people, nor hip to hip on a beach with someone... Our original plan was to wander into town and enjoy St. Philipsburg beach, but I bet about 2K of our closest friends might be thinking that too... WWALD? (What would a local do?) Thanks!! One place you do not see locals is the beach in Philipsburg called Great Bay Beach. Although I am not a local I do not swim in there either and haven't for many years now due to pollution concerns. Reserving and renting a car and heading North is what I would plan to do. Anse Marcel and Grand Case are the areas that I would travel to on such a port day. I would also look in to a boat excursion that left from near the pier. Combining a half day snorkel, lunch at Chesterfields and a stroll down the boardwalk to town and then over to Front and Back St for some shopping would be another great day to me. sail7seas Posted December 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2013 It will be a nuisance trying to walk the congested streets in town and if you've been before, I'd stay on the ship and enjoy a day aboard. With that many people, restaurants and stores and sidewalks are so crowded, it takes from the fun, IMO

Rare QuattroRomeo Posted December 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2013 Try twinislandexcursions.com art gallery tour for something different and fun. We enjoyed it on a previous trip.
