We booked PK Travel and Tours for a port stop in Athens while cruising the Mediterranean. We booked on line before our cruise. Potoula was wonderful to work with. Prompt communication and detailed.

Just the two of us (husband and me) the money spent for a private tour was worth every euro. 5 hours and we saw so much in that short time. Our driver George was knowledgeable, friendly and considerate.Picked us up at the port and returned us to the port. Good driver too.

We used PK travel on the 28/08/2014 for a half day tour around Athens and they were amazing, after having issues on the ship PK travel turned what could have been a poor day into an absolutely outstanding one. We would highly recommend this company communication was flawless before the cruise and the driver on the day was superb and worth every cent :D

There were 9 of us in total on this tour as a private day excursion from a cruise. Our guide was Michael and he was brilliant. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his city. He was great with our 15 year old son. We saw everything we wanted and some things we didn't know we wanted to see! . We were given bottles of water which was much needed and the minivan was extremely comfortable.

Highly recommended.

After we communicated thru email about the transfer from airport to the port, PK Travel still required us to fill in the reservation online with credit card information. Even they said it will not charge us on credit card because we will pay cash after the transfer. Why do they need our credit card information if we pay cash.

Did anyone booked with PK need to put credit card information online even pay by cash?

Thank you!

Thank you!

We had to do the same for our tour registered card and paid cash. Nothing was charged to our card

Most hotels nowadays require you to do this to confirm booking and you choose how to pay when you arrive

It is to ensure that in the case of no shows they can still be paid.

It also means that you can charge the trip/tour to your credit card if you want without needing to have enough cash on you when you arrive in Greece and the company do not need to pay for expensive credit card readers in all their vehicles

It also stops rival firms making bogus bookings

The website is 128 bit encrypted and protected for your security

Hope this explains why

We used PK travel in 2013 for a day tour of Athens and it was excellent. In 2014, since we had such a short stay in Greece, we elected to take a 3-4 hour tour of Ancient Corinth (with PK Travel). Outstanding service, quality tour guides....excellent.

Highly recommend

We've just returned from another wonderful Oceania cruise that started in Athens, where we got off on the right foot by being met by Dimitris from PK Travel. We've been doing business with Paul, the owner for over 10 years, and I can not recommend them highly enough. If you just need a simple transfer for one person, or a complicated tour, transfers, hotel pickups, you name it........they'll make sure they're right there to meet you and take you where you want to go.....and sometimes take you to places you didn't know about that turn out to be the highlight of your trip! It's automatic when we think of either going to Greece or sending our clients to Greece.......first, we call Paul!

We are recently back from a cruise and had a superb time with PK travel on a private tour of Athens. For all of us, including our offspring of 14 & 12 years Athens was the highlight of the cruise so a big thumbs up for Paul and the great tour. I did lots of research on Trip Advisor and also on Cruisecritic we wanted to make the very best of our time in port and the consensus seemed to be that PK Travel were the best in town to provide a high quality private taxi tour. I made an email enquiry, Potoula responded straightaway with all the options and info I needed. Booking was simple; we decided to go with the half day tour with the option to extend if the weather and our offspring were favourable. When we arrived in port we simply exited the terminal and found Paul waiting for us, we were straight into the luxury mini van and on our way into town. On the way in we travelled via the marina's of Piraeus and Paul was full of interesting detail about ancient and modern Greece as he was throughout the tour, this added much to the tour and was a great introduction to Athens for us all. We had met at 8am in order to get to our first stop the Acropolis early before the large tour parties arrived. We achieved this and had a great time (without crowds) touring the Acropolis Hill, Parthenon and Areopagus/Mars Hill on a bright sunny day with a brilliant blue sky, absolutely perfect. We were then whizzed to the parliament building and changing of the guard ceremony. Paul's timing was perfect we saw the whole ceremony with no waiting and then we moved onto the Temple of Zeus, Panathenaic Stadium, the outstanding Acropolis Museum etc. We spent our last hour at the Agora which we really enjoyed; it was not crowed and gave a real sense of the ancient city in the shadow the ever present Parthenon on the hill above.

Conclusion: PK really live up to their ratings, your day is totally tailored to your needs. Friendly expert advice from a driver/guide who really wants you to have a fantastic tour that meets your priorities. You really do maximise your time, the service was totally reliable and safe. Wi-Fi was available in the van when needed. Chilled water in the cool box for you. We had a brilliant day, we saw all we wanted and more and never felt rushed. The whole family loved Athens and are determined to return. We very highly recommend PK Travel, you cannot go wrong with these guys, they will totally look after you, Top Class service throughout.

We just got back from our favorite place to cruise, the MED, and I want to commend PK Travel, Potula and Paul, once again for their fabulous service. We have used them over and over again over the last ten years, doing many different itineraries in the Athens area, and their service and attention to detail is always superb. From simple transportation to and from Athens down to full-blown day tours to Athens, Corinth, Mycenae, Nemea, Nafplion, Cape Sounion, etc. - everything has always gone perfectly. They are also the voice of authority for any questions you might have about upcoming events on the day you are in port, what might be closed, special pricing for museums, etc. I can't recommend PK Travel highly enough.

We did this tour with a cc group of sixteen, aged 13 to 60+ last month. This was our review on tripadvisor:

We booked this tour six months in advance. Every time, no matter what hour, that I wrote with questions, I had a response within the hour. Potoula is excellent with customer service and she assisted us promptly and often with humour. We were a group of sixteen, ages 13 through 60, and the tour appealed to all of us. Paul was our driver, Michael was our guide and both were superb. We did not hit the museums as it was a national observance day, but spent a bit more time at the Greek Agora, which was fine. "Coincidentally", the order of our day made it so that there were not 100s of tourists everywhere we went. Most of the reading I had done said to get to the Acropolis early to avoid tourists, which I imagine many do. We went late in the day, and it was fairly quiet which was great for photos! We highly recommend this company and feel that they go out of their way to make each person's experience their own.

We had a one day stop in Athens on a Mediterranean Cruise aboard Celebrity Equinox in Sept. 2014. We booked a 1/2 day tour with PK Travel and Potoula was quick to respond and very helpful. Actually the tour was a packed 5 hours. Our group was 6 adults which made it a very comfortable & economical tour. Paul was at the exit gate of the port exactly as scheduled. Since we had booked a 1/2 day, we went straight to The Acropolis. He dropped us off with just a short walk up to the entrance gate. Next we went to The Panathenaic Stadium (Olympic), The Temple of Zeus, and The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where we saw the Changing of the Guards. Paul gave us very knowledgeable information as we travelled from place to place. We would definitely use PK Travel if we returned to Greece and highly recommend them to others.

We have just returned from a trip to Athens and Greece and we used PK Travel. We first had contact with them during a Mediterranean cruise in 2013 when we had a driver and car for a day trip from our ship. We were met by Dimitris and he turned an interesting day into a day to remember with his help, knowledge and the ability to take us to just the right places for the right times.

We loved it so much that, in planning a return trip to Europe in December 2014-January 2015, we specifically wrote to them and asked about a one week driving tour through the Greek mainland. They worked with us to put together a tour that matched our interests and the result exceeded our expectations! We had a personal driver and took their advice to use guides for some of the key locations such as Delphi, Meteora and Philippi.

We cannot speak too highly of our experience. I am not the sort of person who is given to hyperbole but it was a week we will always remember. A definite 11…

We were met at the airport by the same person who would drive us during the week and then picked up at our hotel the next day for the week’s travel. Travelling with Dimitri, we did a total of 1,600 km and visited Corinth, Delphi, Meteora, Berea, Thessaloniki, Philippi, Kavala and Athens. The travel was relaxing and informative and the driver was safe, professional and interesting - it was like leaving a friend when we finished. Potoula, who managed all our correspondence and planning, was incredibly well-organised and responsive. Paul, the manager, was always in contact when needed to make sure everything was progressing well and to make any small adjustments necessary. On one day, when we decided to ask for a guide for the next day, he organised it late in the day and we were so happy with the result.

The weather in January was cold, but not at all a problem. The days were sunny, the roads were good and the food and accommodation were excellent value. We are from Australia and we loved the weather.

This was a trip we will never forget and we have determined to return and do an expanded journey, possible driving ourselves. I was very impressed with the quality of the roads, both the highways between major cities and the secondary roads.

We would highly recommend PK Tours as our experience with them was entirely positive.

I used PK travel for a tour of Athens and they were wonderful! They were at the port waiting for us and we were able to avoid the bus crowds at the Parthenon. They choose a wonderful restaurant for lunch. They are knowledgeable and entertaining on the tour. The booking process was easy. I highly recommend that anyone going to Athens use them.

I did not use PK for touring, but I will definitely using them when I visit Athen again.

We enjoyed the transfer very much last Nov. Paul, the driver (He is Potoula's Dad) was very very friendly, patience(waiting for two of us - flight arrived late and our lost luggage), polite and professional. It was also nice to hear something about Greece from Paul during our transfer to the port.

Beside, the email communicate with Potoula was very efficient.

I highly recommend PK Travel.

Quick Question. to those who used PK for the taxi and not a private guide, are you sorry you didn't have a guide? This is for the one day Athens tour.

We used PK Travel and loved the service. We had a guide for the Acropolis - which was a large chunk of our time overall in Athens. Worth every penny. If you're going to pop for a guide, this is the place to do it.

For the rest, our driver was pretty knowledgeable and we got enough overview from him that we were comfortable with the decision.

That said, its a long way to go to have regret. For some of us, we may never get back there. So think it over and make sure you're happy overall with the decision.
