rainforestgirl Posted December 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2013 How often the trolley runs? Thank you! Hard to say- they are not on a schedule, but run continuously. But depending on traffic and such, could be every 15 mins to 45 mins or more.

RayInPR Posted December 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 22, 2013 There are both open-air and closed (I assume with AC) trolleys. I believe the one that goes to the forts is open-air.

paylady Posted December 27, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) If only visiting one fort, which one would you choose? Don For me, that's a tough question to answer since I like both. Each has its own charm. When approaching El Morro on a weekend, there are families flying kites on the huge expanse of grass leading up to the fort. San Cristobal's charms are found directly in and around the fort with beautiful scenery. Check out nps dot gov for information on both forts and park ranger tour times. That may help with your decision. Edited December 27, 2013 by paylady
BaseballMomof4 Posted December 27, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 27, 2013 Our last trip we did both forts without using the trolley. We went to breakfast and did one fort, walked around the town and shopped a bit, had lunch, walked around some more, stopped at the frozen yogurt place next to the smaller fort and then went to the fort before heading back to the ship. We even went to a grocery store (super cheap coffee and soda)! While the walking can get a bit strenuous with the hills, we were able to take it slow and really enjoyed ourselves - it's not that big of an area. Virtopia Posted January 1, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 1, 2014 I went to El Morro fort in September and absolutely enjoyed myself. As I was coming down the hill, I had just missed the trolley and my wait was about 30 minutes.
