bouhunter Posted December 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Hey guys. For the first time in 10 years we didn't make it to Key West last winter, but will be there in less than two weeks:) So it's been almost two years. I heard there was major construction on N. Roosevelt, is that still going on? Thanks for any feedback!
Aquahound Posted December 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Hey guys. Roosevelt, is that still going on? Thanks for any feedback! Yes, there is. The construction is from the "triangle" entering Key West to the intersection of Eisenhower. They've opened it back up to 2-way traffic, so it's not quite as much a nightmare, but the traffic does get backed up during the morning and afternoon rushes. If you're driving, I recommend using Flagler or S. Roosevelt when possible.
bouhunter Posted December 19, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks for the info Aquahound:) We stay at the DoubleTree (Hilton Points) and use their shuttle downtown for the most part. But I still like heading out in the morning for a quick breakfast at Cuban Coffee Queen or other things while the wife and daughter sleep:D
Aquahound Posted December 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Cuban Coffee Queen - great choice. Best cafe con leche and Cuban Mix in Key West. Yeah, on those morning runs, take Flagler down to White St and take White down to that area. It'll save you some headaches.

Love going down there in the morning for a sunrise special and taking a walk along the waterfront:)
