Willow1686 Posted December 31, 2013 #32 Share Posted December 31, 2013 Bill My sincere best wishes for your speedy return to permanent good health; I am very far from being a cheerleader for Azamara, but it is blindingly obvious that you are the best of the best advocates for the brand, and without you to pour oil on troubled waters large numbers of potential customers would simply have given up. Happy Hogmanay, and may there be many more for you!

Rare eroller Posted January 5, 2014 #35 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I just read some very sad news on a Facebook page I belong to that Bill Leiber passed away last night at around 7:30pm, with his wife Diane beside him and his son Doug at his bedside. Apparently he was under the case of Hospice. I can't be certain that this is the same Bill Leiber, but I believe it is because the news is from a Seabourn San Francisco Alumni Facebook group and I believe that Azamara Bill also worked in the past for Seabourn in San Francisco. I know myself and many others will greatly miss Bill's assistance, charm, generosity, and general helpfulness on the Azamara message board. He was truly an Ambassador for the Azamara brand and also for the cruise industry in general. May he rest in peace.

Kellie Poodle Posted January 5, 2014 #37 Share Posted January 5, 2014 May he rest in peace. If anyone is in touch with his family, please send our deepest condolences. He was very helpful to me when the Azamara web site locked out my reservation.
Ithikan Posted January 5, 2014 #38 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I am so so sad having read this post Very sad, indeed. I have so admired Bill's posts on this board. His apparent "insider's knowledge" was consistently delivered with great care and courtesy - a model ombudsman for the cruising public, and an engaging and very effective diplomat for Azamara. My thoughts are with his family. Teri

Rare little britain Posted January 5, 2014 #41 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Bill was a true hero in every sense. His calmness, sensible words, and cool authority will be sadly missed. I raise my glass to a great man. RIP.

When I read this news on Facebook I was hoping it was a different Bill, but deep down I knew it was Azamara Bill. I guess Bill was far more ill than any of us had realized. Such sad news and a shock as well, since I think we all expected him to return once he got better. My heartfelt condolences and best wishes to all Bill's family and friends.
