caral2004 Posted January 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Hello, I am trying to rent a jeep or a dune buggy for our day in Cozumel. Does someone have any expériences with that place ? HTL Rentals ? Thanks
hockeygal54 Posted January 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2014 I personally wouldn't be doing any car rentals etc in Cozumel or anywhere in Mexico. Just too many bad things happen. Look into one of those hire a driver deals.

Rare skittl1321 Posted January 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Get ALL the insurance. Don't assume your credit card will cover it if it normally has the rental insurances in the states. Rental cars are cheap, and the insurance typically doubles the price- still not too expensive. If you are in an accident you are often required to pay all damages before the police will let you leave- this may include replacement salary for the injured person. Tourists are almost always determined to be at fault. Drive very carefully- keep in mind some red lights are just 'suggestions' so really make sure you look before crossing through a green light. Expect taxi's to pass you on one lane roads, very closely- and tailgate like crazy if they can't pass. Watch carefully for eradict moped drivers.
