legion3 Posted January 3, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Well the new year one did not paste well but you can still see that its still $50 per child. All were mock booked 2 adults and 2 kids under 11 on divina. Still great prices and I am not knocking MSC at all but "some restrictions apply" seems to apply to kids sail free on some sailings. One more over TG 2014 this is a YC booking YC1: Kids at $350 each over a holiday. Stateroom type YC1 - Deluxe Suite Number of Guests: 2 Adults 2 Children 1° guest Cruise rate $1,925.00 First Guest Fare $274.44 2° guest Cruise rate $1,925.00 Second Guest Fare $274.44 3° guest Cruise rate $350.00 Third Guest Fare $274.44 4° guest Cruise rate $350.00 Fourth Guest Fare $274.44 View Deck Plan & Stateroom Location
legion3 Posted January 3, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Just making a point about kids sail free, they don't always. To be fair I have found some cruises, many that they are free but as the add says, ...Always = nope

I hope its not going to be like this year with 1000 kids on board.
AmoMondo Posted January 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Different country = different rules. In UK they sail free up to 17 as long as sharing with 2 adults. There isn't any exceptions listed albeit I've not tried a mock booking for YC
legion3 Posted January 3, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted January 3, 2014 I get that but no where in the fine print does it say except holiday sailings. I have also found kids cruise fares on some non holiday periods. The ad kids sail free....Always! But $50 is not free! And it seems clear the yc is not free and perhaps it shouldn't be. Advertising literary license I suppose. Sort of if you like your current insurance you can keep it. ;)
tigger89 Posted January 3, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2014 We have booked the 14 night cruise and our daughter who will be 14 when we travel we originally booked a balcony cabin and were being charged 120 pound but we have changed to the Yacht Club and are being charged 225 pounds. They said the charges are port fees and taxes don't mind paying this for her as on the other cruises we have been on we have paid a lot more for her. legion3 Posted January 3, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Well its clear the kids sail free does appear to be better in the UK particually for the yc.
legion3 Posted January 4, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Also some UK bookings seem to suggest that kids sail free in the yc as well but US bookings for the same trip pay much more. Such inequity despite different countries = diffirent rules this is however a MSC choice what they charge for 3rd and 4th passengers. It seems like UK kids get a better deal than US kids. Perhaps the UK kids help fill the boat as the US crusing public has not at all embraced MSC fully. If they find out they are paying more for their kids as a general rule of thumb this wont endear them to the US market.
tigger89 Posted January 4, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 4, 2014 The pricing should be the same for all websites before we booked on the US site there was a $400 dollar onboard credit and a cabin upgrade but we were unable to get the offer because we are in the UK. legion3 Posted January 4, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Well we did get a $300 obc ($150 per adult) for our booking. NCL currently has a up to $400 for the higher suites.
