Oasis embarkation lunch - giovanni's

Recommended Posts

I have made reservations at Giovanni's on the Oasis on embarkation day. My reservations are at 12:30. This is our first RCI cruise, so no C&A benefits, yet. Nor are we staying in a suite. Now I'm getting nervous that 12:30 is too early. Should we be able to be on board that early?

Thank you, Cruise Critic members. I honestly don't know how we would have planned this trip as well as we did without your help.

I think you'll be fine at 12:30 as long as you're ready to board by noon. You might run late, but the restaurant shouldn't be packed and they'll honor your rez if late.

Frankly I'd rather go to Park Cafe for some yummy roast beef sammiches.

You'll be fine. Boarding usually starts at 11:30, sometimes even earlier. The only issue with Giovanni's on embarkation day is, people eating at Park Cafe tend to hog the tables, not realizing or not caring the tables belong to GT. You might not be able to eat outside.

You will be fine! First cruise on Oasis was our first on RC and we were on board by 12. Last Sept we were on Allure and in a suite so we were on board before 12. We had 12:30 reservations at Giovanni's and actually were seated early as there was no one there. It was the best move we made as we sat there, with drinks watching the lines build across the way at Park Cafe and people wandering around with food in hand trying to find a place to sit. We had a totally awesome lunch and since it was so much food, we did not make dinner reservations but rather went to Vintages and had tapas. It was the most leisurely way to begin a cruise that we have ever had and plan to do it again on Jewel this year!

Our first ever cruise was on Oasis of the Seas. We arrived at Port Everglades at 10:50am. We were on board by 11:30am. Two years later and we cruised on Allure of the Seas. Again we arrived at Port Everglades at 10:50am. This time we were on board 11:40am. We booked Giovanni's for lunch at 12:30pm too. Highly recommend. A fantastic way to begin your cruise. We had time to have a quick look around the ship before having our lunch. By the time we had finished, our cabin was ready. We left our hand luggage in our stateroom and went exploring.

Enjoy x
