mum2bradley Posted January 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Anyone sail on it recently? We just got off the Breeze and want to book for NY's next year but hubby wants to do a 7 day and it is only a 6. The reviews are not all that great. Thanks. Leanne. SadieN Posted January 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2014 We were on the last two sailings out of NOLA on the Conquest. Had two perfectly good cruises on her. Crew was pleasant, ship was clean and the food was plentiful. The ATD hostesses always seated us closest to the galley so our food was always at the right temperature. The only things on our cruises that you will definetly have next year are the new shows. They weren't the best but they weren't the worst we've ever seen. (That honor goes to Princess.) We'd sail on her again.
cruise_control Posted January 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2014 We sailed on Conquest a couple of years ago. We enjoyed it very much, but I guess it depends on what you like. Coming off the Breeze, you'll need to lower your expectations slightly, as it's not as new. We are casual cruisers who just enjoy getting away and going with the flow. If you're like that, you'll have a great time.
Topo Gigio Posted January 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2014 I was on her in September after my Breeze cruise, so it was a bit of disappointing. I should have done the Conquest first and then the Breeze. But she is fine.
sissyfromcab Posted January 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2014 We were on the Christmas cruise (one of the first few out of Miami). There was noticeable wear and tear that needed to be dealt with - it was much more so than any other ship that we've been on. The biggest thing that bothered us about this was the fact that they didn't seem to be doing anything about it. On previous cruises, it seemed like we always came along people painting, cleaning, fixing, etc, but we rarely saw those things happening on the Conquest (maybe because of the next issue). The crew also seemed a bit short-staffed. We noticed that we weren't hounded to buy drinks on the pool deck and it took a while to clear plates off tables on the lido deck. We heard a rumor that they were having a few problems with the transition to Miami, so that should hopefully be fixed by next year.
