YB Nrml Posted January 14, 2014 #76 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Always buy any of the different coffee mugs with the ship's logo/info on them. Every morning with the first cup of coffee I can close my eyes and remember that cruise. Alcohol, cigs and the donation to the casino.
Jeafl Posted January 14, 2014 #77 Share Posted January 14, 2014 I used to buy a ship-specific coffee mug every cruise. However, on our last cruise on the Freedom the only mug there was a generic Carnival one so I didn't bother. Other than that, we buy a few drinks and a couple of pictures. I did buy a bracelet last time as well, but I waited until the stampede and frenzy died down. It was insane in that gift shop when they first opened the sale! mavvie Posted January 14, 2014 #78 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Next to nothing on the ship. I usually save my money for the ports. The odd time we decide to go shopping instead of the beach I always find better deals on land. I have no trouble enjoying my cruise without dropping a bunch of coin. Troy McClure Posted January 14, 2014 #79 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Very Little I buy a few bottles of booze...but price them at the ports first and we have bought the cheap watches. (MY DW's died a week after we got home). She usually buys a visor or a sweatshirt if we forget one. This trip we got our 1st picture in 10 years. The Logo sale, the knock off pandora bracelet, the t shirt sale and the cheap watch sale were all on the same night on my last cruise... the crowds were nuts we just walked away. irishnyc Posted January 14, 2014 #80 Share Posted January 14, 2014 What kind of alcohol is the Sherridan's so many people mentioned? Sounds intriguing. :D The dark side is coffee liqueur, and the white is cream liqueur. It has a special cap so when you pour it the cream floats on the coffee. 2 cruzen Posted January 14, 2014 #81 Share Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) Spa treatments for me! Santa put spa funds in my Christmas stocking! Yes, I know they are more expensive than on land, but it is something I enjoy. Me too...just feels so,great with the gentle rolling of the ship. Haven't indulged the last couple of cruises, but definitely this year. Just pre-paid our tips with credit card points so that saved $161.00 I usually buy a couple of postcards, couple of bottles of rum. And 2-3 daily drinks on sea days. Don't recommend buying the jewelry...cheap quality. My DD bought a $50 ring and the stone popped out the next day. Luckily we were still on board. Tried to tell her just to get a refund, but she liked it and got a replacement. Stone popped again once we were home. Edited January 14, 2014 by 2 cruzen
askimdog Posted January 14, 2014 #82 Share Posted January 14, 2014 3 of us in the family, we have been on 3 cruises. I bought a beer once to taste the Red Frog ale. Otherwise, we have never seen a need to spend a dime. We take what we need so fun shops are never visited. Food is everywhere, so no need for special foods, we don't gamble and we bring our own wine on board and buy more booze In Port. Our S&S has only had the one beer besides gratuities added.
