macaroni Posted January 20, 2014 #76 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Is the prime rib from the MDR or a specialty restaurant....what about the escargot? though do not like all that stuff on top of it........
LrgPizza Posted January 20, 2014 #77 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Call me crazy, but how hard is it to dip a strawberry in chocolate? I can't understand the excitement over that. With that aside, I am loving some of the more luxurious or complex dishes shown here. This thread gives me added excitement for my cruise!
spidybabe Posted January 21, 2014 #78 Share Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Thank you for asking for positive feedback Most anything...I find most of the food to be quite good and I am a chef My husband a chef also, we just off the Gem today and found the food to be pretty good ( maybe even better than past cruises).... especially the lobster tails the first night! Order double tails! There was prime rib in the MDR and being sliced at the buffet ( I think it was the third night) Safe sailing Edited January 21, 2014 by spidybabe
mfinster007 Posted January 21, 2014 #79 Share Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Sushi 'surprise' from Ginza (on the Star 1/2/14) delicious. I ordered some yellow tail sashimi and asked for a surprise roll. Can't wait until I can dine again. Tinabina Posted January 28, 2014 #87 Share Posted January 28, 2014 I'm looking for a pic of the lobster roll from the Waterfront at Ocean Blue. I'm used to east coast mayo filled lobster rolls and I hear this one is different and delish. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
timetogosailin Posted January 31, 2014 #88 Share Posted January 31, 2014 We are leaving in only a few days for the Jewel on Feb 16. Glad to see and hear about the food -- I have seen so many negative reviews I was getting worried. This puts my mind at reast and gets me ready for the cruise -- when can I start eating that food? The Islanders Posted January 31, 2014 Author #89 Share Posted January 31, 2014 when can I start eating that food? That depends on how long it will take you to walk to the MDR or buffet. :D Many times there are servers walking around at embarkation with samples from the different restaurants so that will shorten your "wait time". Janellybean Posted February 2, 2014 #95 Share Posted February 2, 2014 Awesome pics! Do you think it would be ok to expand to pics of the menu selections, too? Once we get back in May, we'll be sure to post lots of pics. Thanks!
Valen9 Posted February 2, 2014 #96 Share Posted February 2, 2014 BTW... if you are at the buffet and you SEE a chocolate croissant, TAKE one. They tend to run out of 'em... and they're very yummy.

Valen9 Posted February 3, 2014 #100 Share Posted February 3, 2014 Room service! :p Good idea. I tend to avoid room service of "assorted pastry" because I'm allergic to nuts... but I bet if I told them that they'd send me a nut-free selection. Wait... If I told them to send ALL chocolate then I'd be happy and so would the friends I'm traveling with! Thanks!
