Amazing Secret River vs. Chankanaab in Cozumel

Suggestions between these two ? Was almost decided on going to Chankanaab in Cozumel and maybe swimming with the manatees (or maybe just snorkeling and seeing the park) but now that I have read things about Amazing Secret River excursion I am wondering which is the better choice. We will be in Cozumel from 11-8. I believe the park closes at 4 or 5?

Went to Chankanaab Park, it was very nice. Took a taxi from the Carnival cruise port about $10, I think it was $30 for the park including snorkel gear, t-shirt and a drink. Good snorkeling and also a nice trail to see the "garden" area.

We also enjoyed our time at Chankanaab Park and would not want to take the ferry ride to the mainland for the River tour. Too much time on the ferry when I can be at CP in minutes.:)

My votes for the Amazing Secret River (Rio Secreto). It really was amazing!

We enjoyed our day at Chankanaab. We took a cab there and back. The re-creations of ruins from across the country were interesting. The water was very clear, although a little bit rough for snorkeling.

 

I've read of some rough water on the ferry ride to the mainland. If you're prone to seasickness, you might want to stay on the island.

My votes for the Amazing Secret River (Rio Secreto). It really was amazing!
