lovablekendra Posted January 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I heard people take coffee machine sometimes on them to a cruise are we allowed to take a soda stream machine to keep in our rooms? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
CRUIS4ME Posted January 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2014 That's interesting because it doesn't use electricity...hmmmm....nor do you have to take canned sodas....or bottles of stuff.... I would think that it may "pass". Will have to let folks know if it does or doesn't work.
lady_cruiser Posted January 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2014 As for coffee machines. If Royal finds them in luggage, carry-on or checked, they will take them away. At the end of the cruise they will be returned.
miccheck Posted January 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Hrm, that's an interesting proposition. I've got one of these too. A few things I can think of that may make that run afoul, the can of CO2, and the bottles of syrup. If the CO2 doesn't pose an issue (someone more knowledgeable about RCI's rules would be better here) then I'd just bring a lot of the small sample sized syrup packages so they don't get weird with the bigger bottles. enginerd314159 Posted January 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Are you flying in? Cause I'm not sure you'd be permitted to transport the CO2 cylinder on the airplane. You'd have to check with the airline, or buy one at your port of departure, in which case any potential cost savings are likely eliminated. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Coffee Makers are not allowed. French Press OK. Soda Stream compressed gas cylinder would not likely be allowed. hansolosmom Posted January 22, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 22, 2014 Love our soda stream too! I doubt they'd let the canister on, mostly because they'd see it as a pressurized tank. I know you would not be able to fly with it, when they ship the tanks they have to be done with ground transport.
reedl Posted January 22, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 22, 2014 I have a soda bar gun in my kitchen, and use it every day. But I cannot bring it with me, so I use the soda supplied when I go out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Coffee machines/makers are not allowed. I have never heard of anyone wanting to bring a Soda Stream on with them. The first problem you would have "if" you are flying is the CO2 cylinder would not be allowed on the airplane as it is a pressurized container and would be a hazard on the plane. There are plenty of places to get soda onboard any ship you cruise on so I would use the room in my luggage for something other than a Soda Stream machine. reedl Posted January 22, 2014 #23 Share Posted January 22, 2014 (edited) That is a complete commercial setup. It looks just like the system we had at a place where I worked many years ago. How do you get the syrup packs? I buy most of them from Sam's Club locally which is about 20 minutes from my house. These are the current flavors. The flavors now are: Caffeine free Diet Coke (Sams locally) Sprite Zero (A local restaurant that has a coke account) Coke Zero (Sams locally) Ginger Ale (Sams locally) Diet Dr. Pepper (Sams online) unsweetened Ice tea (Sams locally) It is nice having real tasting soda compared to the garbage tasting Soda Stream stuff. Big_G Posted January 22, 2014 #24 Share Posted January 22, 2014 My dishwasher is coming with me. He does a great job. LOL. My wife brings hers too. He doesn't set off the metal detectors and has no electrical cord so they let him on board without a visit to the naughty room. :D
