hannahsmomtoo Posted January 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2014 If the "Star" ( who I am uninterested in ) is performing in Nassau.... and we have NO intentions of seeing him - does that mean we can stay at Atlantis longer? tncap Posted January 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) That is correct. On concert nights, the ship will set sail at 1:00AM. Guests will be allowed to enjoy the extended hours in the ports of Cozumel and Nassau, however due to the fact that Catalina is a tender port and tender operations are not available at night, guests must return to the ship as posted onboard well before 1:00AM Edited January 23, 2014 by tncap

( Our port "departure time" NOW says 1am - yesterday it said 6pm ) Yes, you get to stay there a lot longer than you would before. My daughter would be ecstatic with this as we booked our cruise just because it went to Nassau and she wanted to go to Atlantis. No concerts showing for the Dream though and with our cruise in May I doubt they will have others added by then. :(

( Our port "departure time" NOW says 1am - yesterday it said 6pm ) That is the beauty of this new program. Instead of the full music charters that usually accompany these bands, which charge a huge premium for that sailing. This program does NOT raise the price of the cruise, but ONLY the people who CHOOSE to pay for this "excursion" pay any additional fee. Those who have no intrest in the artist, just get an extended time in their port, to enjoy whatever they CHOOSE to do. Bill

I still have fingers crossed that they will add a concert to our cruise so we can stay at Atlantis longer. Hopefully ticket sales for these concerts will be really good and they decide to expand earlier than planned to other ships.

SadieN Posted January 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Wonder how it is going to work at a tender port? and for elegant night? The concert cruises out of Long Beach have the concerts on the day they visit Catalina, which is also Elegant night. For those not wanting to go to the concert wil the tenders still be running that late at night? How are they going to get off the ship with all their equipment? The Channel is a very rough stretch of water to transfer from the ship to boat. Maybe they'll go back to Long Beach. They'd still be able to make it to Ensenada on time. Catalina is only 22 miles from Long Beach and is also part of Los Angeles County. Ensenada is only 200 miles from LA. CE night will probably move to Ensenada with less time spent in port there. Looking at cruises yesterday and then today, I've noticed the cruises that are having the artist on board to perform have gone up in price. So it has raised the price on these cruises even if you didn't want to see said artist.

( Our port "departure time" NOW says 1am - yesterday it said 6pm ) You may want to talk to Scuba Girl on the Bahamas board. I found this that she posted just a week or so ago: During Spring Break (and any other in season week, day passes will be more expensive, and less likely to be available same day. Majestic is a good way to go, but the price depends on the date. Keep in mind, the waterpark opens at 10am and closes at 5 in the winter/spring.. they stay open til 7pm only in the summer months. Thats' the reason for the short timing.

Yep I have noticed it for weeks before the concert announcement b/c I have been looking for another cruise. I've actually noticed most all the cruise lines have increased their prices at least for what we have been looking at.

WLHyatt Posted January 24, 2014 #24 Share Posted January 24, 2014 Mystics, I really doubt they would be able to add a concert in any of these ports to sailings from NOLA or Galveston, due to the long hard steam back they have to make in order to get to the port on turnover day. Since Nassau and Cozumel are the last ports on the Eastern and both western itineraries for NOLA cruises the timing would not work out. The only way they could do it is flip the itineraries and do Nassau and Cozumel first, but I'd rather not end a cruise on Roatan or Montego Bay. I would be happy to see them add time to Cozumel for NOLA sailings, but Cozumel is a day and a half at near full speed from New Orleans or Galveston. Casino and shops are closed. Will Carnival have the comedians or alternative music? Would of been nice if they had the concert when in Ensenada and stayed later there.
