Alan51 Posted January 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2014 We just got back from the Reflection cruise 1/11-1/18 and overall it was great. The problem was the water temperature in the shower was way to hot and could not be turned down. It was scalding. We were in 1585 aquaclass. Multiple complaints and plumber visits did not result in any improvements. The measured temperature was 97 degrees on the coldest setting.I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Phxazzcruisers Posted January 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2014 Interesting. We were in Aqua and moved to an Aqua Suite halfway through our New Year cruise. Did not have issues in either room with water temperature. Sorry to hear you had a problem. Sounds like their might have been an issue with the cold water line into your shower. miched Posted January 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2014 We have been on many S class ships in AQ. They utilize a Grohe shower panel and controls that have a scald guard. Apparently it was faulty or the plumber didn't know how it works or how to use the shower control knob. There is a positive stop on the temperature adjustment part of the shower knob that will not let you advance past a certain temp. You have to push on it to be able to by pass that stop. That part of the valve may have been faulty or broken. 🌴🍸🍻🍻
Fouremco Posted January 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2014 Sorry to hear that this posed a problem for you. At 97 degrees, the water would have been below normal body temperature (98.6) and well within the recommended norms. While some people enjoy a cold shower, and there was clearly a problem if that was the coldest setting possible, at least it was a safe temperature.
