T2C Posted January 30, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 30, 2014 There was some arm twisting concerning stack emissions, CCL won for now. No, the Pride will have the technology before returning: 'Carnival Pride is one of several Carnival Cruise Lines ships that will be outfitted with exhaust gas cleaning technology – known as scrubbers –designed to reduce air emissions from cruise ships and large marine vessels. Scrubber technology will be installed on Carnival Pride prior to its Baltimore deployment in spring 2015'
T2C Posted January 30, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Good news but I am bummed that the ports will not change. Sure would have been nice to have some new places to cruise to on Pride. Different ports would be nice, at least every once in a while
T2C Posted January 30, 2014 #28 Share Posted January 30, 2014 This: 'WaterWorks, highlighted by Green Thunder, the steepest and fastest water slide at sea, as well as the line’s signature Twister slide full of exhilarating twists and turns and a spray park' will shock our grandkids in 2015. They will be going on their 1st cruise with us this summer before Pride gets it so when we go again in 2015 we won't tell them and let them be surprised

iheartmarshall Posted January 30, 2014 #30 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Great news! I have yet to cruise (c'mon May!) but would love the opportunity to take the Pride out of Baltimore. It's only a 6 hour drive from me, yay! And the more I read these forums, the more I want to try out a 4K :)
cybergidget Posted January 30, 2014 #31 Share Posted January 30, 2014 This is great news! We had pretty much written Carnival off after the news of Pride being pulled out of Baltimore and had switch all of our 2014 books back to RCI Grandeur. Hope the revamp of the ship goes well. She was on of one. :)
leisurely mandy Posted January 30, 2014 #32 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Good news but I am bummed that the ports will not change. Sure would have been nice to have some new places to cruise to on Pride. Yeah, I would really like to see some South or Western Carribean options. Maybe 10 days out of Baltimore, on the Vista? ;)

crusinpsychRN Posted January 30, 2014 #34 Share Posted January 30, 2014 So much for replacing Legend permanently in Tampa when she goes to Australia; I wonder if Tampa will get another ship? Tampa NEEDS another ship! Paradise just doesn't cut it. We need one for 7 or 8 days cruises.
CorrieCJ Posted January 30, 2014 #35 Share Posted January 30, 2014 So happy to hear this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though we live in NYC, we have never cruised out of NY -- but have done 3 cruises on Pride and are booked for a 4th. I'm ready to book a 5th!!! JaniceB Posted January 30, 2014 #36 Share Posted January 30, 2014 This is exciting news. I am glad the Pride will finally be getting the 2.0 upgrades and coming back to Baltimore! :D
maxwell'sparents Posted January 30, 2014 #37 Share Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Love that the Pride is back, like others have mentioned, we wish there was a new itinerary. Won't be the same without Roger signing in the Piano Bar. Edited January 30, 2014 by maxwell'sparents
Captain Carnival Posted January 30, 2014 #38 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Tampa NEEDS another ship! Paradise just doesn't cut it. We need one for 7 or 8 days cruises. Agreed....however, and unfortunately, only Fantasy and Spirit class ships can pass underneath the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. :(
Eng23 Posted January 30, 2014 #39 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Tampa NEEDS another ship! Paradise just doesn't cut it. We need one for 7 or 8 days cruises. A little greedy there..... Be happy that you will still have "A" ship in Tampa. There are quite a few ports with no ships or have lost the one ship that they had. ibcnusoon Posted January 30, 2014 #40 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Well that's good news, but would have liked some new and exciting itineraries, or at least throw in a good 9 night every so often. ;) On that note, when are you coming back to New York, Carnival??
