flimflubin Posted January 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2014 My family and I are taking a 8 day eastern cruise on the Breeze. If I book my cabin in the "odd number " will that be the beside to view the ports? Can't remember if the odd side is port or starboard side. Thanks

Thanks There are no set rules about which side the captain docks the ship. It depends on weather he backs in or pulls in forward.
hihosilvers Posted January 31, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Odd is starboard, but that doesn't necessarily make it the better choice for viewing ports. That depends on where/how the ship docks that particular day.
sailor_jimc Posted January 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Just because it's called the Port side doesn't mean its always that side of the ship that faces land when docked. It all depends on the port you are in, and which pier they dock the ship at....
mum2bradley Posted January 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2014 We were on port side of the Breeze and were facing the ports at those stops. We have always booked port side
2bthereagain Posted January 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2014 It's true about the docking arrangements, they can and do change - making it hard to know. But one thing is for sure, if you want to see South Beach during sailaway you will want to book Port side (even numbers).

KPfromCT Posted January 31, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 31, 2014 We did the 8 night on the Breeze, in April. We went to St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola, and Nassau. We booked port side (even numbers) and were port side views at each port. I have a thing about odd numbers:eek::eek::eek: However, as others have said, he could back in, etc.
riclop Posted February 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 1, 2014 It varies.
BabyJacks17 Posted February 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 1, 2014 I sailed the Breeze 3x last year and each time we had docked port side. Again, like others have said it can vary but your best chance is to book an even numbered cabin.

Thanks We booked starboard (odd numbered) on Breeze because the Lanai below on that side was non-smoking. (No need to debate this.) We backed into two of our ports and nosed into the other two.
