Xcitdcruiser Posted February 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) I've convinced my parents to try X around the Greek Isles - currently working through the cabin selection. Would you go Starboard or Port for these stops? Venice, Italy Kotor – Montenegro Santorini – Greece Athens (Piraeus) > Katakolon – Greece > Venice Looking at a 2C, hump veranda options are: 6155, 6157, 6154 & 6158. Many thanks in advance! willma Posted February 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2014 Hi, I will have a go at this. Venice, the best views are port sailing out, starboard sailing into Venice. But you really need to be up on deck to experience sailing out of and into Venice. Kotor it doesn't matter, as you have great views both sides through the fjord and will be tendered. Same for Santorini. Great views both sides on approach, and you will be tendered. Athens it depends where you dock. We have been docked facing the town in our starboard cabin twice. Katakolon, I can't help, as I haven't been there. Whichever side you choose, the best views are usually up on the top decks, and you can move around to see both sides as you wish. lambs2 Posted February 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2014 Katakolon is a rather industrial port area, at least it was on our Cunard cruise last year. All the sights are not near the water so it really does not matter.

Rare Essiesmom Posted February 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2014 For Piraeus (Athens) there is much more of interest on the port side as you sail in, huge cruise ferries, etc. Not much to be seen on the land side. EM
