Tazstravelgirl Posted February 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Silly question! I've heard great things about the afternoon tea and I think I'll try it out on my next cruise. I'm not really a tea drinker, any chance they serve coffee as well?
grumpyjr88 Posted February 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I always seem to miss tea time but I'm guess if they won't bring you coffee (which I doubt) then you could just bring your own.
excitedcruiser Posted February 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I always go to the tea time. I absolutely love it. Very charming. I have seen people request coffee in it. Don't really pay much attention to it as I don't drink coffee but I have heard it requested.

TheCalicoCat Posted February 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Coffee is served, you just have to be better than me at being in a specific place at a specific time to enjoy it. On a cruise I have a hard time keeping an appointment.

debee1015 Posted February 18, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I ordered it at tea time. They had to make a fresh pot because you know tea time. .. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Forums mobile app
sanmarcosman Posted February 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2014 There's usually something from the pastry cart to enjoy while you're waiting for your coffee to be served.

lovestocruise19 Posted February 18, 2014 #13 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I don't drink coffee OR tea, so I asked for hot chocolate! They looked at me like I had two heads, but I got my hot chocolate! ;)

I've heard macaroons are also available and it's best to KNOW what to request...so what's the normal run down of pastry options?
mousey Posted February 18, 2014 #15 Share Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) I've heard macaroons are also available and it's best to KNOW what to request...so what's the normal run down of pastry options? As I mentioned above...my favorite are the fresh strawberries w/a dollop of their fresh made (at least I think it is...but don't care cause it's delish!) whipped cream. They also have little cream-filled puffs (which I usually can't get enough of). They also have several different types of tea-sized sandwiches and other things. I can't remember them all, but they do have IMHO a nice choice. I always order a soft drink as I don't like hot beverages (I know, why am I at "Tea" if I don't like tea...because of the pastries silly...LOL!).:D If you do go to Tea time and don't like what they serve...then don't go to anymore on that cruise because they serve the same items at all of them, which I personally don't mind.;) It's nice really, they come around with a box of a variety of teas and you pick the one you want. Then they come around with a cart filled with pastries and those cute little tea-sized sandwiches. They come around with the tea tray about twice as I remember. I'm the one at our table that's joking (not really...I did say I love them strawberries and cream...LOL), "Where's that guy with the tea tray, I want more strawberries!" On our last cruise, the people we had just met were funny and were saying, "Yeah, bring back the tea tray or off with your heads!". We were all just joking of course, and weren't saying this out loud, just between ourselves. Tea Time is just more Fun Time! I'd be sad if they ever did away with it. Sparky2 Posted February 18, 2014 #18 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I usually am doing something else when tea time rolls around. However, on our recent B2B, I made it to tea all 4 times it was offered. Yummy sweets & cucumber sandwiches.

Rare mking8288 Posted February 19, 2014 #22 Share Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Is the tea offered more than one sea day per cruise? Yes, at least it was when we sailed - on all the (4 out of 9 nights) sea days, just check the Fun Times (linked under Signature details) as it's listed. They come around with the tray of tea bags first and upon request, will bring you coffee. Turnout was usually low - or, that most folks are occupied with other activities or not interested. luv2cruzfrmco Posted February 19, 2014 #23 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Every cruise my girlfriends would laugh at me and talk me out of going. Last cruise, I drug one along with me. I'll never miss it again and guess what.....neither will they. :D:D
pianogal83 Posted February 19, 2014 #24 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Just off the Liberty, Feb. 8-15 sailing and there was no Tea Time listed in the Fun Times! I wonder if they have just discontinued it without saying anything?
Prinycesa07 Posted February 19, 2014 #25 Share Posted February 19, 2014 I've been on several carnival cruises & have yet to make it to tea time. This April I will though! Are kids allowed? Sounds like something my 4 yr old would love while wearing her princess dress.
