WillyBear Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I really don't get this new marketing campaign/tag line. "Escape Completely"…That I get. "Come Back Renewed"…That I would get. But "Come Back New"? I don't get it. I don't want to come back new. I like who I am. My wife doesn't want to come back new. She likes who she is. Every time I hear the tag line on a commercial it bugs me...

RickEk Posted February 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Well, the ad agency that Princess is now using is famous for the "Got Milk" campaign... they appear to like brevity in their ads... :)

OK..try this...if you go on a cruise and experience new things, see new places, meet new people...when you get back, haven't you changed? are you not a more experienced person? I think that is What Princess is grabbing at.
Caribensun Posted February 26, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Came back new-Relaxed anyway. Come back new- have to go on another cruise to come back new?!. Agree with Jim Avery!
msmoger Posted February 26, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I haven't seen any of the ads lately. I saw them when they were first launched but haven't seen any in a few weeks. Are they currently running? Maybe not in the NY metro market??
Thrak Posted February 26, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I would absolutely love to come back with a new back, right knee, left elbow... I'd also like to have my strength, stamina, weight etc. restored to what it was when I was younger. I might even like to get back my hair but I'm pretty used to that being mostly gone and it is easy to "take care of" now. :D
Weluv2cruise2007 Posted February 26, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I'm not a fan of the ads - they're boring! We have tons of fun on cruises and the ads are too calm...it made me think the target audience was specifically senior citizens. Here I am trying to promote Princess to my friends (we're in our 40s) and those ads don't look very fun at all!

DShock Posted February 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) It's brilliant in my opinion. Princess does marketing very well! But Carnival ads are the best of the bunch...fun, relevant, hits home. Edited February 26, 2014 by DShock
kendon Posted February 26, 2014 #15 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I like who I am too...but there's always room for improvement! I certainly felt new after my Royal cruise.

UpcountryTravelers Posted February 26, 2014 #17 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I LIKE the ads. I don't like the slogan. "Come back new" is nonsensical.
brentlym Posted February 26, 2014 #18 Share Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) While the 2 they show on TV are rather sedate, and the one with the couple ordering wine resembles an add for another product altogether :D, this is the one that I like the most, and it's not seen on TV. It really does pretty much sum up my love affair with Princess. Edited February 26, 2014 by brentlym

WillyBear Posted February 26, 2014 Author #20 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I LIKE the ads. I don't like the slogan. "Come back new" is nonsensical. That's what I was getting at. jbobst Posted February 26, 2014 #21 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I like the subdued nature of the ad's...they feel elegant and classy. Carnival ad's are geared towards kids and family. That's fine too, but I want elegant and classy and like Princess for that. We have young kids and we've been on many cruises (carnival included), but we like the elegant, classy of Princess...at least compared to Carnival. When I get back from a cruise I am really tired for about 2 days, but mentally I am recharged.
fishin' musician Posted February 26, 2014 #23 Share Posted February 26, 2014 For the first TV campaign in ten years the ads may be getting the name out, but not much more. They are visually drab and portray the experience as being rather drab/sedate/sleepy/boring as well. IMO they've missed the mark.
sashas_mom Posted February 26, 2014 #24 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I was wondering if I was the only one who doesn't like the new slogan. I for one definitely escapes completely on our Princess cruises and I like that slogan much more because I relate to it.
