catty Posted March 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2014 If you were a single cruiser but wanted a nice quiet cruise but a good deal, would you go with the dream, I loved Belize or with Celebrity, love the perks!
candacemac24 Posted March 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2014 I would suggest a older boat such as the freedom or the imagination, but avoid newer boats like the magic because there will likely be more kids which isnt as quiet unless you go seclude yourself in a corner. Hands down, Celebrity. We loved the serenity of this cruise line and we are actually getting ready to book with them again. :o
firemanbobswife Posted March 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2014 I love Celebrity. And while they would be my first choice, I am going on the Glory by myself in May. Mainly due to price. But if the prices were equal, I would chose Celebrity every time. I absolutely adore the S-Class ships with the Reflection being my favorite one. cschultz Posted March 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2014 If you were a single cruiser but wanted a nice quiet cruise but a good deal, would you go with the dream, I loved Belize or with Celebrity, love the perks! My friend just booked the May 4th Liberty out of Orlando, 5 day cruise. She was able to book a room by herself, and did not have to pay any penalty or any amount for a second guest. It was a casino benefit.

Why would an older "boat" automatically be better ?? Well, I just suggested my lil theory because newer ships like the Magic seem to have the newest water slides and kid perks and more families tend to go on these ships since they are usually bigger. I was just trying to help here, although I've only been on three cruises. No need to lash out the snarky comments. FireEater Posted March 2, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) For quiet, there are a lot of places on any ship to mellow out and relax. Pick for the ports I say. Which line offers your ports? If both, go with the cheaper line. I would pick Celebrity just for the simple reason of checking out another cruise line. I will be on my 4th cruise line next year.... Since perks are far and few between on CCL, I would pick Celebrity of your two choices to sample perks. That is the reason I am going with NCL next year, for the suite perks...:) Edited March 2, 2014 by FireEater
LRene Posted March 2, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2014 For quiet, go Celebrity. No comparison.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk if you have a reason for your "lil theory" why not mention it in your post instead of simply "don't go on ship X"?? The OP has to provide more information in order to get an intelligent answer - port of departure; date of cruise; desired itinerary; budget; etc. just for starters. But, mindless replies such as yours are what fills up 99% of the space on this talkboard - people saying things that make no sense or provide no intelligent response. Yes I expect this to be deleted - but, I call them like I see them.

I have been on the Dream twice now with others and love it a lot..... Especially with the Cloud 9 Spa. I am going solo for the reposition cruise. I cruise to relax and never had a hard time finding good spots to relax and enjoy.

SkyMaster Posted March 3, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 3, 2014 If cost is no factor, then I too would suggest "Celebrity". GREAT cruises, and a step above! If cost is a consideration, then "Dream" is an outstanding cruise. I personally look for the older, smaller ships with no single supplement, and enjoy the "Serenity Deck" on the aft end of the ship. I, frankly, don't think you'll go wrong with any of the cruises mentioned. Have a GREAT vacation! "SKY"
