dawgdawg Posted March 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Or is just a passport sufficient? It is a closed loop cruise - leaving and returning from New Orleans? Thanks

sdmike Posted March 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2014 A passport is the best travel ID you can have. Nothing else is needed
garnet115 Posted March 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2014 As others have said, only a passport is required. However, IF you are traveling alone with your child and you have different last names, you may need to bring the birth certificate to prove that you are the child's parent. When I went on Breakaway with my dd, I was asked why we have different last names. I offered up the birth certificate, but the woman didn't check it. That's not to say she wouldn't have been in her right to ask for it.

BUT with minor children it would be a good idea to have a birth certificate. You'll probably never need it, but no harm in taking a little extra precaution. Orleanscruiser Posted March 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2014 All you need is a passport, but if you travelling alone with your child, you will need a notorized letter from the other parent and be good to have the birth certificate with you.
