cruisingcasinos Posted March 12, 2014 #54 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks for taking the time. Great Pics. Question- I saw your pics of Vibe- looks nice- did you have to pay extra or part of the Haven experience?
tjaker11 Posted March 12, 2014 Author #55 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks for taking the time. Great Pics. Question- I saw your pics of Vibe- looks nice- did you have to pay extra or part of the Haven experience? Vibe is completely seperate and not a perk of the Haven, but the Haven has basically the same perks. I asked Anoop for a tour so I did not have the Vibe pass. without an escort you cannot go in unless you pay
FellowCollector Posted March 13, 2014 #56 Share Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) Cant begin to tell you how nice the spa suites are, all the perks of the Haven plus unlimited key card access to the Thermal spa Loved this picture, and appreciate you sharing it. We are going in April in the same category. I'd really like knowing which stateroom number this is you were in? I sometimes get queazy if sailing is less than smooth and would like to figure out which way the bed orients. I'm weird about this, but really want to figure out which starboard cabins (14728, 14730, 14732, 14734, 14736, 14738, 14740, and 14742) are oriented so that if laying on the bed, the right would be next to the balcony and the left would be next to the bathroom? Basically, opposite your picture is what I'm looking for. Thanks! Edited March 13, 2014 by FellowCollector
Beth 2001 Posted March 13, 2014 #57 Share Posted March 13, 2014 Should not be a problem as they do hold back a large percentage of reservations, as soon as you board you can go to to any of the ineractive screens located by every stair well just slide your key card and pick your time, can also book from your stateroom as well but the screens will get you in ahead of the crowds I see "Entertainment" and "Onboard Services" on the interactive screens -- can you also book shows and spa appointments on them? We were on the port side and it seems to me the first suite from the rear walking forward number 14142 was facing aft 14140 forward and alternating forward so I assume Starboard should mirror that Edited March 13, 2014 by tjaker11

MR. MATT Posted March 13, 2014 #63 Share Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) O Sheehans is really large compared to some other ships spanning both sides of the ship overlooking the central atrium and a really huge projection screen. We ate there a few times and food was always good, I loved the fish and chips and my wife loved the corned beef on rye, mozzarella sticks good too. I am going to show your review to my family tonight! I just booked yesterday on the Getaway and this will be our first ever Family Vacation in Dec., right before X-Mas. My wife and I have gone once a year for the past three now and I am hooked, but I have always felt guilty not taking my two sons, SO when I told them this Dec. we are all going I have never seen my two Boys (age 9 & 13) so excited! we all site for an hour looking at videos on You Tube... We are going to start saving our pennies now............ I see in your pictures they have bowling, air-hockey, etc... do the games cost extra? Edited March 13, 2014 by MR. Yes They do cost extra and to play the games you just swipe your key card so caution your boys, maybe you can set a daily spending limit so they dont over due
BecT Posted March 13, 2014 #66 Share Posted March 13, 2014 Sorry to tell DH it is not designated as a stripper pole but he can use his imagaination, we thought is was some sort of conduit to above and below, I saw other Spa Suites with it as well. Only one pole in our suiteLight can be turned off. No DVD player in our room Thanks for the info. I broke the sad news to my hubby. I'm glad to know that at least it's not some type of drain. We once had a drain in our room on a Celebrity cruise and it wasn't much fun. Becky
BecT Posted March 13, 2014 #67 Share Posted March 13, 2014 I'm in 14132 next month. I'll take more pictures. Thanks, I'd appreciate the extra photos. We're staying in 14132 and the other couple travelling with us is our niece and her soon-to-be-hubby and they'll be in 14130. It's our wedding gift to them. They are very excited and searching out whatever info they can find out about the ship. My niece has cruised with us before, but not on NCL and her fiance has never cruised. They are going to love the Haven experience and I think the added spa benefits will just be frosting on the cake! Becky

(two boys 9 & 13) I'm not whining but after $2200 for the ship plus tip of $336, and airfare of $1400. I'm sitting here having buyers remorse
asdjl Posted March 14, 2014 #69 Share Posted March 14, 2014 I am going April 19 with my 3 kids (13, 10, 8) and it was my understanding that the games in the kids rooms were included but in the "bar" areas it was extra. MR. MATT Posted March 14, 2014 #70 Share Posted March 14, 2014 I am going April 19 with my 3 kids (13, 10, 8) and it was my understanding that the games in the kids rooms were included but in the "bar" areas it was extra. But I am not positive Hi Asdjl, that why I was asking because even when I asked the NCL booking agent about the games she didn't know what cost and what did not. My kids are not going to be able to pass up all the games in the kid & teen area without wanting to play all of them... and seeing the pics of the teen/kid club is one of the reasons I booked. After out get back in April could you please let me know, thanks. Matt
Automation Posted March 14, 2014 #71 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Thanks for the pics and the info. I just booked for Oct. We loved the Breakaway, so this should be a great cruise!:)

My Travel Agent asked before booking, but no one seemed to know, so we selected a stateroom NCL "thought" was what we were asking for. And, alas, based on the assumption about starboard being a mirror image, it isn't, so now I hope changing isn't a real hassle and is done without charge. tjaker11 Posted March 14, 2014 Author #73 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Ok so we are docked in Nassau and surrounded by 5 other ships including 2 Disney, 2 Carnival and a Celebrity. The following pics will tell the story but I will tell you this, NCL really rolled out the red carpet for her returning passengers, not just a few crew members but all the senior staff as well, and that is our cruise director and her assistant on the stilts. NCL Celebrity NCL Carnival Ncl These other cruise lines should hang their heads in shame, Passengers from Carnival actually strolled NCL's red carpet and took pics with the characters enroute to their ship. The senior staff and all the entertainment stayed outside welcoming guests for at least 2 hours. This to me shows that NCL is commited to hospitality and not just revenue. I have never been on a cruise where the hospitality was this fantastic
tjaker11 Posted March 14, 2014 Author #74 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Well that is pretty much it, Disembarkation was a breeze, luggage out by 11 pm, breakfast at 8 and off the ship by 8:45. I hope this review does justice to this fantastic ship, her crew and senior staff. We love NCL and her freestyle concept but with the new dining package and the dedication of Sean and his staff this is the best cruise vacation we have ever had, Did not detect any of the usual roll out issues that are typical of new ships and crews. If I can offer any advice to people who are planing to cruise this ship or any other is always go to the meet and greet to meet other CCers and senior staff of that ship, and by all means get involved in all the activites and attractions afforded you. I will answer questions if I can, If I dont respond it is not from rudeness it's just that I dont know the answer to your questions. chloe173 Posted March 14, 2014 #75 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Did you happen to keep your Dailies? As far as I know there's only been one set of dailies from Getaway uploaded so far and they were from the inaugural cruise...I'm guessing now that they've settled in a bit more, the current dailies will be a lot more like what to expect on our cruise next month.
