CABCruiser Posted March 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2014 We are booked in M407 this summer. According to the deck plans online, this balcony is standard size, possibly missing the larger angled balconies by just one cabin! Any hopes of a nice surprise? Av8tor Posted March 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2014 We're book in D409 for Regal's maiden voyage. It has a larger angular balcony of 54 sq. ft. Regal deck plan show M407 as having a standard balcony size of 36 sq. ft. The larger angled balconies under the sea view bar and/or sea walk are 45, 54 or 72 sq. ft. Royal balconies should be similar...

CABCruiser Posted March 14, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Thanks for your replies. I checked again today, and a cabin a few doors away with an angled balcony opened up. I was able to switch with no problems. I appreciate your input.
Av8tor Posted March 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Glad it worked out for you. If balcony size is really important to you (side matters?), be sure to mark your booking DO NOT UPGRADE or you could find yourself "upgraded" to a higher cabin category with a smaller balcony
robtulipe Posted March 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Here a shot of the balconies for M409 and M411, upper ones in shot, on the Royal Pr. that I cropped from a shot I took of that ship from the top floor of the Northport parking structure upon our return from our last cruise and these balconies are not that much larger than the regular ones. Grego Posted November 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2014 I guess that size does matter with respect to balconies if you really want to spend most of your day there or want to entertain. We acknowledge that the standard balcony on both the Royal Class ships are smaller than most others in the Princess fleet, but certainly fine for just sitting and enjoying some quiet time away from the crowds and certainly better than an interior cabin or oceanview.
