Sir Richard Branson has already stated he will start his cruise line with 2 new build ships. What he does after that is anyone's guess.

 

That's a bold move. Even Carnival started with 1, and then 3 subsequent old refurbished ships.

 

It will be interesting in seeing this seed sprout.

Fear-mongering is a good description of false claims by spokespeople for the City and SPA that we are trying to end cruise operations, kill maritime jobs, curtail cargo operations, destroy port activity, damage business throughout the state, devalue a $43 billion state asset, and attack private enterprise. Nor are we “downtown elitists” saying “not in my backyard” or “worried about people wandering around our neighborhoods in flip-flops.” But that’s how our opposition to current plans is being spun.

 

The only Fear-Mongering is what they are doing...

 

One idea they have is to put the port at Patriots Point... Sounds good to me! I bet Mt. P would jump on that! Can you imagine the amount of construction, jobs, etc. that would generate... AND the downtown ferry would have to put on extra boats when the ship is in. Plenty of parking, etc.
