We have stayed at Laquinta, great location, but not the cleanest hotel. Very cool rooftop breakfast. Also Comfort Inn in Condado, great morning breakfast and great location. Also stayed at Sandy Beach, Excellent location on the beach, but I would not give them my credit card number again. Last but not least we stayed at Da House in the heart of OSJ. LOVED IT! I have heard noise can be an issue on Fri and Say nights, but Sunday was very quiet!

It's been several years since we stayed there, but we found the San Juan Airport Hampton Inn to be very nice for one night, pre-cruise. They seem to cater to cruisers (and their crazy schedules). We ended up flying in on a red-eye, and got there before noon -- we were just dead on our feet, and needed to sleep! Since we weren't picky about location/size, they were able to get a room ready for us within the hour. One caveat -- the hotel itself is very quiet (for an airport location), but the swimming pool is located directly under the take-off/landing pattern -- it can get rather noisy! ;)

...The Gallery Inn in old San Juan, which I had the pleasure of staying in more than a decade ago, and which I have been recommending to visitors to San Juan ever since. (In fact, looking forward to a pre-cruise stay in one month!)

The place is truly magical, and unique. Check out their website, and let the slideshow roll...

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

As Keith suggests, the best thing to do is go to the ports of call boards and see what folks have to say there and keep in mind that "reasonable" is a very relative term. Lots depends upon time of year, etc

2 years ago we stayed at the Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino and that was very nice. We used points and I do not remember what the pricing was then. I can tell you that it is located in a very nice area. Lots of restaurants within a block or two and it was nice to walk around at night. I have also stayed at the Condado Plaza which is in a pretty nice area as well although I think I would prefer the Marriott's location.

Hopefully, this little bit helps as well.

Jed
