mompells Posted April 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2014 As a GOLD level member, will we have priority boarding? If so, will our 3 adult daughters be able to join us? This is their first RCI cruise.
workingonlytocruise Posted April 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2014 No you won't have priority boarding but it usually doesn't make a huge difference.

This is their first RCI cruise. You will receive priority check in but not priority boarding.
YadaYadaJodi Posted April 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2014 You will receive priority check in but not priority boarding. What's the difference? Would this only apply if you got there and got checked-in before boarding started? If they are already boarding wouldn't priority check-in in effect give you quicker boarding? Does this vary by port? We are cruising on the Navigator out of Galveston in October. Thank you!

The only difference is a different line. Once boarding has started then nothing matters.
Clarea Posted April 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2014 What's the difference? Would this only apply if you got there and got checked-in before boarding started? Correct. If they are already boarding wouldn't priority check-in in effect give you quicker boarding? Maybe, if the priority line is shorter than the regular line. Does this vary by port? We are cruising on the Navigator out of Galveston in October. Thank you! Answers I could answer in RED above.
ShawninFL Posted April 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2014 To answer your question, no you don't receive priority boarding. If you did, your daughters would not receive this unless they were in the same cabin. But in all honesty the priority embarkation benefit is really a non benefit. In our many cruises on RC the regular boarding line has only 1 time been significantly longer than the priority line.
