Planmaam Posted April 22, 2014 #27 Share Posted April 22, 2014 I am going to ignore the nay-sayers and stick with the OP: A Coffee Card available for purchase would be great. I wonder how much revenue they get from the Atrium Cafe? How much would their sale revenue increase with a coffee card with a set price for a set number of coffee drinks? Bottom line' date=' I bet MANY more people would buy and net profit would increase. Worth a try, NCL????? Also, in the pre-boarding suite area they could have sampling plates of the afternoon suite treats. You could then better decide and let the butler know what you would like to be delivered each afternoon. That as opposed to him figuring out mid-week what you were eating and just bring that. Sometimes people who are new to the suites have no idea what is available so don't ask. They could be to taste or just to view. They could have cards to fill in what you would like to be delivered, with your name and cabin, that could then be passed to the butler. This would 1) give you what you like/want 2) save NCL $ on less wasted food that is not eaten 3) truly enhance the suite experience 4) Increase your desire to tip the butler. Who wouldn't win in this situation???!!! [/size'] I love both of those ideas, too, Medicalma'am! I agree that the examples of treats in the suite lounge doesn't help people other than those in suites, but it could truly save them money, as you said. And I've said before that I would love the coffee card idea. Then that NCL acknowledge the passenger they got ideas from which get implemented with some sort of on-board perk or OBC! Rebels82 Posted April 22, 2014 #28 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Have one side of ship's balconies non smoking and one side smoking. I know everyone has rights but when a non smoker is next to a smoker on his/her balcony, it is not fun for the non smoker. Some smokers are more considerate than others. This would help NCL differentiate itself from RCL who has said no smoking on all balconies, and from other lines that allow smoking on all balconies. JasonV1 Posted April 22, 2014 #29 Share Posted April 22, 2014 I'd be happy if a line simply enforced the rules. I took the plunge and booked my first Haven suite on the Getaway this August. I'll be very disappointed if the area is full of people who got in by getting keys from someone in a Haven suite who got extra keys (such as a group with multiple cabins, some Haven some not). I'm not saying this is an epidemic, but I've heard it definitely does happen. That, plus chair hogs. This is a problem with many lines of course, I don't want to make NCL sound unique in that regard. PorkChopKid Posted April 22, 2014 #30 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Get rid of Pepsi and carry coke products like most other cruise lines do. Please stick with Pepsi products, and don't try to emulate other cruiselines. Therein lies the problem that every cruise line faces when deciding what to do. It's impossible to please everyone so we, as the cruise customer, have to look at the whole package and decide where to put our money.
nadeki Posted April 22, 2014 #31 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Change the cheap champagne that is given to platinum members and suite guests...... it would be nice to have a choice of a cheap bottle of wine.....usually you can get it changed but it is not easy and it is a waste of vacation time. In the restaurants the complimentary wine menu for platinum guests offers some very undrinkable selections. Bring back fruit soups and proper cream in to go with the scones in the afternoons. It seems the platinum perks are not worth that much because you can't buy the unlimited dining package because you already get a free dinner one night. Spa discounts are only on signature treatment on sea days etc....

You get a $20 discount on the price of the UDP because you won't be using one night because of your platinum dinner which I think is quite fair. Plus they now added the dinner show the first evening (on the ships that have one) to the UDP. Edited April 22, 2014 by peg013

It gets old when diet pepsi/coke is your only option when they could offer diet versions of Mt. Dew, 7up, Sierra Mist, or Pepsi Max or their Coke equivalents. WouterC Posted April 22, 2014 #37 Share Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) What I and my DW really miss is a more limited beverage package. When we sailed MSC, we loved what they offered, called Allegrissimo package. You get soft drinks (can, not fountain), ice cream from the parlor, a selection of wine and a limited number (12 I believe) of alcoholic cocktails. Basically, more choices in beverage packages. Ability to buy spa pass, posh pass online. Make it clear where NCL has shuttle buses, preferably in online account, vacation day by day. People booking an excursion to get in town then discovering there is a shuttle bus only leads to frustration. Overview somewhere on the ship mentioning where and when the ship will pass a nice view. Rare blackwing Posted April 22, 2014 #38 Share Posted April 22, 2014 If there is a kid's splash play area, like the SpongeBob on Getaway, then NCL needs to have a staff member monitoring the area. Kids get ROUGH on the little slide. Too often, their parents are nowhere to be found (some seem to believe that their 8 or 9 year old is old enough to take care of themselves and disappear to do their own thing). This creates an unsafe environment for the younger kids. An NCL staff member who can supervise the area and ensure that kids don't block the slide or push others down it or bully younger kids would certainly add a lot to the enjoyment of younger kids. Since these kids' parents are missing, and since I was a parent of younger children, yes, unfortunately, I had to be "THAT GUY" and yell at other people's kids when I felt mine were about to get hurt. I wasn't proud of it, but the alternative is to watch other kids punch and push mine. There needs to be more ice dispensers in the drink area of the buffet. There are two drink dispensers, which is great. But there's only one ice machine per station. And unfortunately, you can get water from the same machine (even though you can get water from the drink dispensers too). People would fill up four glasses of ice for their family, then fill up four glasses of water, hogging the ice machine.

Improve the website and allow various selections (Princess does this well) such as beds together or apart, pillow choice, Red or White, allergies, etc. I'd like to be able to pre-book things and then choose whether to prepay or post-pay. Since I frequently get casino comps which cover my on board spending, I'm stuck having to wait until boarding and then hope that the Shore-Ex or Speciality isn't full. .
