Last 2 times we received a fruit basket, the time before that we received a bottle of champagne. They were waiting in our cabin when we got back on the ship after walking through customs. If you want to purchase alcohol for your second leg go to the gift shop the last night at around 7:30 and purchase the liquor. They will let you take it back to your cabin. Go to the duty free just before it closes on the last night of your first cruise and get refils for next cruise. time it so you can carry your liquor to your room instead of being delivered. Bring your wine allowance for both cruises on first cruise. tell security that you are doing B2B show them the boarding passes if asked. you more than likely will be allowed to carry all the bottles on with you. PS i ran out between cruise and got refils. I did not ration the wine well to last both cruises. There will be a letter in your room delivered the last night with instructions on where to meet on board so you can go through customs and get your new sail and sign card for the second leg. Let your room steward know you are doing a B2B, if you have to change rooms they have a cart and will help you move to new room Enjoy the B2B it was the wonderful having the whole ship to ourselves for a couple of hours and not pack up and have to leave. OCruisers Posted May 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2014 The last time we took a B2B on Carnival (it's been a while ... have only taken one week cruises on more recent Carnival cruises) they would not allow us to go back to our cabins after being walked through customs until the new passengers were on the ship and the announcement was make that the cabins were ready. This was sort of a shock to us because on our Princess B2B cruises we could go back to our cabins immediately after being walked through customs. Is this still true with Carnival? When you switch rooms, just pack everything up and let your room steward do the rest. We recieved strawberries the first cruise and on the second one we received both a bottle of champagne and a fruit basket. Same here, never a problem going back to our cabin. On the turn around day our steward would service our room first while we were at breakfast, then his heavy work begins. LuLu We went back to our cabin briefly at the beginning of the 2nd week of our B2B because we wanted to get rid of our passports. A suggestion - If you are doing a B2B make sure both cruises are linked together, especially if any changes are made. Somehow this past year's B2B became "unlinked" so I was glad I checked. We've done 3 B2Bs (4th one booked for 2015) and always received a fruit basket and bottle of champagne. I've kept the bottle chilled in the "fridge" and taken it to the MDR to exchange for while wine to have at dinner. My SO does not drink so I don't want to open the bottle of champagne just for me. seeing this world Posted May 4, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 4, 2014 i forgot to mention, if you leave the ship to go shopping, when you come back, go directly to the VIP line and tell the nice people there that you are already checked in, go through security and if you bought more wine :D, they will do thier inspection, by pass the check in counter (cause you already are :D) and walk right back on the ship again. okgirl Posted May 5, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 5, 2014 I loved our B2B's but in both cases by the time they walked us off the ship through customs and back on it probably wasn't 15 minutes before the VIP guests started boarding. We never really had a feeling of having the ship all to ourselves. I usually tell our cabin steward not to bother with our cabin, that we only need fresh towels. I've never been told I couldn't go back to the cabin. But then again I usually don't. We get up a little later than normal, go have a leisurely breakfast and just relax out on deck until it's time to meet with Guest Services. And when we stayed in the same cabin, we weren't required to attend the second leg's Muster/Safety Drill. (Now, this was before any major situations with Carnival.) Yes, were did get a basket and champagne. But... BE SURE TO CHECK AT GUEST SERVICES... ask if they KNOW you're back to back!! For some reason, many years ago, they did NOT know, until we told them!! And that creates last minute problems. Definitely think about buying liquor on the last night of first cruise... if you buy it earlier, and they KNOW you're B2B, you won't get it until the LAST NIGHT of the TOTAL cruise. We visited the "Captain's" Suites (CS) and took a bunch of pictures of us (e.g. sitting on the leather couch, looking out the floor-to-ceiling windows, out on the balcony, etc.) and sent a few to our friends saying this was our cabin. Is this still true with Carnival? LuLu March 2013 on Victory in Miami we were the last passengers off, escorted all the way through customs and then immediately back aboard by a ship's officer. They also offer you the option of a pass to re-board with the other passengers, in which case you can leave port and tour the city and then return aboard any time after boarding begins. We also checked out a few cabins we were curious about in the in between time :) In San Diego, customs are done on board - On B2B's were asked to report to a lounge in the morning with the non-U.S. passengers. After that, the day was ours, no need to leave the ship at all if you didn't want to. seashinesunshine Posted May 9, 2014 #22 Share Posted May 9, 2014 When we do our b2b we are taking the kids the first week, then sending them to the airport to fly home while we cruise alone the second week. Has anyone done this before, I should say my "kids" will be 17 and 19 so they will be fine, but I can't convince the mommy in me that they will be fine. Depending on my brothers travel plans, they may or may not have adults with them when they go to the airport. I know I could get off the ship with them, and then come back but listening to all these stories, it sounds so much easier to stay on the ship. I also really enjoyed the people watching as the new guests came aboard...watching them in awe of the ship. Just a need little thing to enjoy on the B2B!
