CC Help Jenn Posted May 19, 2014 Author #28 Share Posted May 19, 2014 We decided to check out one of the kid’s activities – Doremi Chef – pizza making Fuzzy phone pictures – sorry! The kids were each given a dough round and some flour. They were told to create your best dough shape And then the pool area was actually pretty empty so we took advantage of that Later that day we checked out the kid’s club talent show. The kids practiced their talents at the club earlier that day Our dude did some gymnastics !!

St Maarten is tomorrow and we needs some sleep!

CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #31 Share Posted May 22, 2014 So, when my kids found out that we were going to St Martin – all they could talk about was Maho Beach. Not really #1 on my list for what I would choose to do, so I searched for a tour that included a short stop there to appease them while getting to see more of the island. We went with an island tour with Bernard’s that included short stops for photos and longer stops in Marigot, Orient Beach, Maho Beach, and Oyster Pond. The tour was on an air conditioned small bus and included drinks and rum punch. St Martin came into view quite early, not long after sunrise. We had travelled all night with Disney Fantasy and NCL Getaway. My kids were missing the Fantasy and a bit sad to see her – but Divina didn’t disappoint and at the end of our cruise they are saying they want back on Divina. We parked, aft end in, smack dab in between the two ships From our balcony And we are off! Quite painless too Three big ships in port today
CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #32 Share Posted May 22, 2014 We saw some of the poorer areas of the island And also some great sea views And sea life
CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #33 Share Posted May 22, 2014 Our first long stop – we had approx. 2 hours here. You could pay for a chair and with each chair you purchased you got a free drink – sweet! The water!!! Oh the water – so nice Pretty much sums Jack up at any beach we go to Because – beach selfie! More views The beach was not too crowded – the water was nice. It was a great stop
CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #34 Share Posted May 22, 2014 Next up – more touring – some photo stops – and Marigot. DJ – our tour guide. He was a great guide – we had a really good time with him. Had to snap the trip advisor sticker right on the bus Shipwreck from the storm a few years back Our main goal in Marigot

CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #36 Share Posted May 22, 2014 Funny enough by the time we reached Maho the kids were tired and hot and were pretty much “done” for the day. Maho was very crowded, and while neat to see, I doubt I would do again Look how close traffic is to the beach!

CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #38 Share Posted May 22, 2014 Family photo taken at a photo stop on the way back to Philipsburg And of course have to take a photo of our beloved Fantasy (she is beautiful, sorry Divina!) Steel drums on the pier – nice touch My souvenir
CC Help Jenn Posted May 22, 2014 Author #39 Share Posted May 22, 2014 When we came back on board we showered quickly because Jack wanted to go to the Doremi dance party – I think he just wanted to see if his “girlfriend” would be there to be honest! See – he is looking for someone! Then we checked out the dinner menu to see if we would want to venture to dinner that night - Looks good, and we did Jack’s pizza was cute! I do think that may have been the last time we went to the MDR though – we were much happier just eating on our own – I don’t think we are the type that love to have table mates. Bed early tonight – we have to be off of the ship when it docks – Going to the Baths tomorrow!
CC Help Jenn Posted May 28, 2014 Author #40 Share Posted May 28, 2014 I was most excited for this port – even though it was a short day. Not many sailings go to Tortola so this could be a once in a lifetime trip for us. That being said – we decided that if the ship offered it – we should see the Baths. When I woke just before sunrise I noticed we were already surrounded by small islands. It was dark, kind of foggy – it was really neat to watch us sailing by We were supposed to tender – starting at around 7:30a but the captain decided to try and park us at that tiny tiny pier All of the officers on the bridge were watching closely the whole time, and I have to admit sometimes the ship was making some pretty odd noises But we docked!! Along with the Sunshine
CC Help Jenn Posted May 28, 2014 Author #41 Share Posted May 28, 2014 We met our excursion group in the theater We got some towels and waited for our number to be called once the ship cleared customs Our transport to Virgin Gorda Nice view out of the back of the catamaran Someone got a bit seasick!! Luckily there was a bathroom We took an open air van once we got to Virgin Gorda (sorry no pics of the van!) and arrived at the top of the Baths
CC Help Jenn Posted May 28, 2014 Author #42 Share Posted May 28, 2014 There was a path that would take you down to the Bath’s Beach – we wanted to go to Devils’ Bay through the caves but figured we would take a peek at the beach first. The trail was not so bad – you need to be mobile but it is easily walkable. Beach!
CC Help Jenn Posted May 28, 2014 Author #43 Share Posted May 28, 2014 But this!! Is where we really want to go You need to be quite mobile to go this way! There is climbing and maneuvering in tight spaces. I am going to give you a bunch of photos now – because when I was doing my research I found only a few – I knew I wanted to see the Bath’s because that is what everyone said I should do. But no one ever explained well WHY I would want to see the Baths …

CC Help Jenn Posted May 28, 2014 Author #47 Share Posted May 28, 2014 This beach was so NOT crowded – I assume because the work it takes to get there – and there were a ton of outlying caves to explore. If you don’t want to go back through the caves there is a path that leads to the parking lot – it is long and hot though – Id probably prefer to go back through the caves. We decided to go back and check out the Baths’ Beach again before we left It was MUCH more crowded here – which makes going to Devil’s Bay much more worth the work! Leaving was again via open air van and catamaran – no one got seasick this time and we were given punch for the ride back

CC Help Jenn Posted May 28, 2014 Author #50 Share Posted May 28, 2014 We decided tonight to try the sports bar food. It was pretty typical American bar food – it was good and the price was not bad. Kid’s coloring page Chicken Nugget – I did not count but there was a really good amount! Sampler Burger And BOWLING!!
