Cruisin'cockney Posted May 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2014 Travelling on BA out of NY in June. I understand that there is a 1 hour time difference between NY & Bermuda. When does the ship time change? Does it change as soon as we leave port in NY and then back again when we arrive in port in NY or is the arrival into/out of Bermuda the trigger? Alternatively does it change overnight somewhere between NY and Bermuda? The actual timing is quite important to me (boring reason - not worth going into) so any info would be great. Cheers
Cubechick Posted May 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) They will change the ship's time on the sea days to/from Bermuda. Edited May 9, 2014 by Cubechick
NJ Johnny Posted May 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2014 The time change will be noted in the Freestyle Daily and also you are usually given a small card that is placed on your bed the night before the change.
darienill Posted May 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2014 They say to change it at 2 am so as not to interfere with any onboard plans you might have.
gooch47 Posted May 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2014 I think the OP wants to know which day it will change, right?
Cruisin'cockney Posted May 9, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted May 9, 2014 I think the OP wants to know which day it will change, right? Right, although info so far has helped. There are 2 sea days before hitting land in Bermuda so when does it change?
johnsak123 Posted May 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) My friends and I booked an excursion and I didn't realize the time change Needless to say they were banging on my door and I was fast asleep I ran out of the room like a bat out of hell and forgot my room key and ID Had to run back upstairs to get it but realized I couldn't because was in the Haven and couldn't even get thru the doors to have the attendant unlock my door. Thank goodness I remembered carlos' number and he and I literally ran into each other on 13 so he can open my room and let me get my stuff He saved the day and we made our trip to the beach. My suggestion would be to get a wake up call instead of relying on phone or clock if you are planning a trip At least NCL would know about the time change Edited May 9, 2014 by johnsak123
johnnypiano Posted May 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2014 Right' date=' although info so far has helped. There are 2 sea days before hitting land in Bermuda so when does it change?[/quote'] On our cruise it was Monday night that the time changed. So then we had all day Tuesday to acclimate for a Wednesday arrival in Bermuda. See the right side of the Freestyle daily:
