Just off explorer in a GS ask your questions

This was my first GS and second time on RCI and second time to Bermuda. I plan to write a review when I have a chance but anyone have any questions I can answer? Loved the ship and crew. Had an amazing time!

It was the 5 day so at sea and 2 days in Bermuda then back at sea. They have the ice skating show which was amazing! We saw it twice. The comedian was the first night and he was ok but I left early bc I was tired and he wasn't great. I saw he was on again for the farewell show so I skipped that. I got to see the show that's songs from different parts of the USA and that was very good, they sing about 3 songs from NY, Miami, San fransisco, Chicago etc. There are two more that are not coming to mind ill have To check my dailies

They have a dance club called Chamber which I peeked into and had friends go to and they said it was awesome, they were there until it closed at 2am. I went to the GLOW party the last night and it was really cool, I left at 11:30 bc I had a young child so not too much partying for me but my friends said the night life was great on ship

Denzil was the concierge and he was amazing, I never had that experience before and was Leary about what to expect, well he was wonderful (and easy on the eyes too).

My mom ordered a club soda with a lime in MDR and the lime never came. I ordered a line infused drink in 19th hole during a suite event and got 4 slices in my drink, then next night ordered a strawberry daiquiri at suite event and got a lime garnish. We took photos of the limes bc we knew it was rare to see limes on the ship:)

Hurray, thanks for posting! We're doing EOS on exactly this route in June. Questions:

-- Does EOS have the "small wonders" microscopic art installations some people have been talking about on Allure, Oasis, etc.?

-- Any discussion of the water quality issues they've been having on Bermuda beaches?

-- If you still have the kids' Compass handy, any chance you could quickly list which daily themed programs they offered (superhero day, zoo day, etc.)? There's an enormous scanned rundown from a transatlantic cruise here, but I want to start talking up specific activities with my 5-year-old.

-- If you checked out the kiddie pool section of the ship, how was it?

-- How was embarkation/debarkation in Bayonne?

Thanks!!

Silent disco was in The Chamber I didn't make it to it but it was on the compass.

Adventure ocean staff was the best I gave ever seen, I had my 4 year old with me and she has never wanted to stay in the kids clubs even though she goes to preschool normally. I could not bribe her to leave the club on this trip! She was in aquanauts 3-5 year olds, she met a brother/sister combo that became her best friends. On seas days she was there 9-12 then would go back at 5 and have dinner in buffet with the teachers then stay until the 10pm pick up time. You can actually leave them 10pm-2am for $7 an hour but she was ready for bed by 11 (at home bed is by 8)

I was invited to suite events. First day was a welcome cocktail in the 19th hole where all the officers came to the tables to greet you and this was my first encounter with Denzil. Then you could go to concierge lounge or 19th hole each night 5-8 for free cocktails and apps so we always went to 19th hole. On the second to last night we were invited to the windjammer for dinner with the officers this was a very nice buffet, surf and turf with waited drinks.

Because there was a problem with the forward elevators the concierge walked everyone to the aft where there were elevators held for us and other staff in them like a bellman to get us to floor one. Denzil stayed on dec but there were other crew very ready to help. I did not se the rudeness that other threads are talking about, it was most likely stressful fir the crew with a big rain and an alpha cal right at disembark!

Did the concierge escort you to get off the ship? How time consuming was it getting from the ship to the taxi/shuttle stand? Thanks.

When we were on the Explorer in a GS in March, Denzil did escort us off the ship to the shuttle. We met in the Schooner Bar and when he arrive he commandeered one of the elevators and took us down.

Time-wise.....we were in the Schooner Bar at 8:10 a.m. and home by 10:00 a.m. We live about an hour, hour 15 minutes from the pier....the remainder of the time was getting the shuttle, our luggage, going through customs and catching our ride home....pretty painless all in all and I wouldn't hesitate to sail from Bayonne again.

On the 6 day Bermuda there were 2 "formal" nights (2nd night and next to the last night). There was no "smart casual". All other nights were "casual".
