seamwoman Posted May 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2014 We're looking for a cabin on the Royal. Are any of the balconys covered like on the Caribe on other ships? What are the pros/cons of a deluxe balcony? We like a cabin midship - any suggestions. Thanks, Karen
rjack22 Posted May 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2014 I believe on the Royal most if not all of the cabins are covered balconies. The Royal does not have the stair step design the other ships have. The deluxe balconies are "slightly bigger" than a standard balcony. They include a love seat sofa instead of the single chair. That is about it. You will also find the mid ship balconies on the "curve" have larger balconies than the standard ones on this ship.
SwissDave Posted May 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Be aware that deluxe balcony means a bigger room, not a bigger 'deluxe balcony'. Sent from my iPhone. Please excuse tryping orrers.
Colo Cruiser Posted May 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2014 The Royal does not have the stair step design the other ships have. Aft facing cabins are tiered.
jimpod Posted May 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2014 We have just returned from the Royal and had cabin D409 which is midships and has a larger angled balcony. Plenty of room on the balcony if you like to make a lot of use of it.
