Winter_sux_Summer_rulz Posted May 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Does anyone have an idea how much a taxi would be from MCO to Port Canaveral? There are 4 of us travelling.
GTO-Girl Posted May 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Does anyone have an idea how much a taxi would be from MCO to Port Canaveral? There are 4 of us travelling. MCO is 45-60min away from the port so a taxi will cost you $$$$$$.... You would be better to either do a one way car rental or take a shuttle such as Travelynx, Executive VIP limo or Cocoa Beach Shuttle. Winter_sux_Summer_rulz Posted May 17, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted May 17, 2014 From what I can see online so far, a taxi will actually cost less than the Carnival Shuttle and most other shared or private cars. I am wondering if anyone has taken a taxi recently so that I can verify what I see only....about $120 each way.

It's an hour each way and the taxi still has to pay the driver to return to MCO. The cheapest taxi is $130 USD plus additional charges.
GTO-Girl Posted May 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2014 I have seen in these boards some people getting a rental car for about $50 to $60 with the right code. Maybe someone else can chime in with more info......
Kamloops50 Posted May 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Just by looking on the rental car sites or something like TripAdvisor or Priceline you can get a decent rate.
ptcruzers Posted May 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 17, 2014 I recently paid $135 US for a round-trip from I-Drive to Port Canaveral and a return to Orlando Intl. on Cocoa Beach Shuttle. Mention Cruise Critic and enjoy a 10% price reduction.:D:)
ptcruzers Posted May 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Sorry, forgot to add that was for two passengers.
JohninDC Posted May 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Shared shuttle service from someone like Cocoa Beach shuttle will only cost about $25 per person; even limo service from Executive VIP is likely to be cheaper than a taxi.
Winter_sux_Summer_rulz Posted May 17, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Thanks for the responses. I do not want to rent a car. After comparing taxi fees with shuttles and private cars, I ended up booking a town car for the four of us. The price was not great, but its better than the shuttle the cruise line offers and better than a taxi :)
Capt_BJ Posted May 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) for the record for most airports, if you go to their website and find 'ground transportation' you'll get a guestimate of travel costs to major points by various methods looking at Orlando's page you see that a taxi is about $105 one way - but we know that a taxi is charged PER VEHICLE while shuttles will charge per person and limo's by the hour (typically) http://www.orlandoairports.net/transport/local_transport.htm some sites ARE easier to decipher than others . . . for example this site actually DOES say that a taxi from MIA to the port is flat rate $24 ! But it might take some effort to find that. http://www.miami-airport.com/hotel_shuttles.asp Edited May 17, 2014 by Capt_BJ
