travelover7 Posted June 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2014 We are booked for 7 day cruise on the Valor leaving Puerto Rico on September 28 to October 5. We have a balcony on deck 8 veranda. Has anyone staying on this deck that can tell me if this is a nice deck to be? Nice view?

valentinebaby1 Posted June 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2014 We were on the Valor last year just about the same time, on Panorama deck 10 balcony room (starboard side)...it was PERFECT. Make sure you wake up early enough each morning to step out on your balcony in the morning as you come into each port. You'll get photos like this: (coming into St Thomas) and this: (also St Thomas) and this: (coming into St Lucia) and this: (arriving in St Kitts) I have to say I'm just a smidge jealous of you right now. We are dying to go back on the Valor and do this again.

abisha Posted June 9, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2014 Sailed Valor last year..great ship and crew and also in my opinion, the best itinerary. We were in an ocean suite on deck 7, and had great views from our balcony on that deck as well. Have a great cruise.

jacmo24 Posted June 24, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Awesome ship! Amazing itinerary. Don't worry about anything. It will be FABULOUS. Best itinerary there is. Done it twice. Can't wait to do it again.
Spudder Posted June 25, 2014 #13 Share Posted June 25, 2014 Is the Lido aft pool adults only? We are sailing in September on our 15 year anniversary and are looking for a kiddo free place to relax. Yes it is, there might be few around but we found it pretty much kid free. The Valor also has the Serenity retreat for some adult time...

Yes the Lido pool aft is kid-free and it's a much-less-noisy place to relax! Remember not to have too much fun on Valor, now! :D HW2-RLnqHHk Celebration with Mister Cool and his Gang! y04VDCyKN1s You're the one that I want! We had a ball with Felipe's '70s/'80s Music Quiz thing on Deck 5 near the Casino (at 10 p.m. after the Show) -but that doesn't mean that you should lol :D ENJOY! . BarJen Posted June 25, 2014 #15 Share Posted June 25, 2014 any balcony on the ship provides a great view, like a previous poster mentioned..don't miss the sunrise! here is a shot I took of the Pitons as we were heading to the port. Have a great trip, it's an awesome itinerary. Barry
pghsteelerfan Posted June 25, 2014 #16 Share Posted June 25, 2014 We were on Valor in May 2013 and our cabin was on the 8th Deck (#8331). It's generally pretty quiet up there unless you're right under the main pool area on the Lido Deck 9 (right above). Our cabin was under this area and even then, it wasn't that bad. We heard an occasional chair being moved at a table. On the night of the Deck party (after Barbados), it went on a little late and we did hear some of that. It definitely won't be as loud as it gets in cabins on the 6th deck that are over the nightclub. I also recommend not missing sailing into the islands in the mornings. We were on Valor in May 2013 with a balcony (starboard, right side of ship) on the 8th deck and one of my favorite things was getting up early to see the islands/sunrise as we were coming in. If you're on the starboard side, you'll get the best views after Barbados since all the islands will be on that side. If you're on the port (left) side of the ship, just head on up to Panorama Deck 10 for the views. This was one of our favorite cruises and has the most scenic itinerary. I would LOVE to do this same cruise again. Coming into St. Thomas Coming into St. Lucia (you should be able to see the Pitons) Coming into St. Kitts (views of cloud covered Nevis)

meanjean80 Posted June 25, 2014 #18 Share Posted June 25, 2014 Went on this itinerary last September and had a great time...one of the best cruises I've ever had. Balconies are great for arrival and departure on the islands...have fun!

ladybugcruiser Posted June 26, 2014 #23 Share Posted June 26, 2014 JM: We are Sept 20th . Give me the scoop. The last few cruises have been kinda lacking in the entertainment Dept. So hoping this cruise has a good vibe! Good music would be nice.regardless, the itinerary looks awesome! Any recommendations on excursions or just things to do in ports? jmcancruise Posted June 26, 2014 #25 Share Posted June 26, 2014 We found the atmosphere on this ship to be amazing. I think the awesome staff set a great tone for an upbeat and lively cruise. We are kind of low key types, but we really enjoyed the vibe.
