CruiserJul Posted June 17, 2014 Author #55 Share Posted June 17, 2014 Shortly after dinner DS went to club O2 and we went to the family friendly comedian and the DIVAs show. DS said he and his friends also went to the show. We enjoyed both the comedian and the production show. After that we went to the casino and I won $30 on the penny slots! :) Next up St. Thomas.... flutist14_99 Posted June 17, 2014 #56 Share Posted June 17, 2014 I'm really enjoying your review and I enjoy seeing pictures of the food from the new menu. Good to see they've made a few changes since the initial release. Glad to hear the Glory is still going strong she was my first cruise when she was going to Canada out New York. gambee Posted June 18, 2014 #63 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Thank you for the review, we are currently trying to decide wether to go on the Glory or on Divina. Your review is definitely putting some weight on the Glory. I think the will fit my family much and I am really liking the ports that she will hit during that specific week. I love all the food pictures and the Jacuzzis ones, since those are a must for our family :)

Do you remember where the liquor store was that your husband went to in Nassau? Thanks!! I think it was on Bay Street. There is more than one though. We first found it while walking to Junkanoo Beach. Glad you are enjoying the review!

Yes, the ports (especially St. Thomas) is why we booked this cruise. I like having a port intensive cruise. I wish we could have spent more time in the Jacuzzis but we were so busy! CruiserJul Posted June 18, 2014 Author #67 Share Posted June 18, 2014 We were scheduled to be in St. Thomas from 10:00 to 6:00. Here's pics of us pulling in:
CruiserJul Posted June 18, 2014 Author #68 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Seaplane We were off the ship close to 10, We were docked at Havensight. There are quite a few stores around there. DS bought sunglasses and DH went to buy some pop for our collapsible cooler. Then we got a taxi to take us to Sapphire Beach. We wanted good snorkeling from the beach as well as a beach that wasn't crowded. The marina is closed so there are no facilities. That keeps the crowds away! But the water was beautiful and DH said that was the best snorkeling from a beach that he's experienced. DD saw a barracuda! So that ended her snorkeling. The pretty water: We brought sandwiches from the Deli and sat under a tree and ate those. This little guy decided he wanted some too:
CruiserJul Posted June 18, 2014 Author #69 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Now I read in a couple of reviews that a cocktail waitress/waiter will come by (there are condos with a restaurant in the area) and ask if you want a drink. So this guy walks up with a tray and a laminated menu and asks if we want anything I said that I wanted a margarita and he said he wanted the money upfront. A couple of other people ordered food/drinks and he sauntered off. I started to get a little worried that he would just take my money and I would never see my margarita...lol. But eventually he came back with everyone's order and even took a few pictures of us. The margarita was really good btw. We played in the water a while before we headed back to the taxi stand. We shopped around a little more before getting back on board around 5:00.
CruiserJul Posted June 18, 2014 Author #70 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Glory in St. Thomas DD, DS & I went to the gym (DH forgot to pack his gym shorts so he never joined us). Then since nothing really appealed to DH and DS on the MDR menu, they got Guys Burgers. DD and I wanted the Chicken Curry so we got cleaned up and headed to the MDR. Minestrone Ceviche We both got the curry but I can't find that picture. It was really good though! They had it the next day on the buffet for lunch and got it again. CruiserJul Posted June 18, 2014 Author #71 Share Posted June 18, 2014 DS went off to O2 and DH and I decided to go to the Serenity hot tub. The Serenity area is in the front of the ship and is two levels. It has 2 hot tubs and a bar. The slide entrance is also up here They have cornhole up here so we played that for a while. Then we got ready to go to the Gender Showdown and the Love and Marriage show. This was hilarious - especially with Dr. E hosting!

CruiserJul Posted June 22, 2014 Author #74 Share Posted June 22, 2014 We were scheduled to be at San Juan from 7 - 3:30. Woke up at 7:30 and we were already docked so we headed up to Lido for breakfast. Here is DS's breakfast taco - or what's left of it: These are really good!!! Our plan was to visit the 2 forts ...San Cristobal and El Morro. First we stopped at the CVS down the street to buy water since it was so hot outside! Then we walked over to San Cristobal. There's a nice view from the top: My favorite - The Glory as seen from San Cristobal: Next we took a trolley to El Morrow which is a mile away. As you can see El Morrow has a huge grassy area where people fly kites, etc. View from El Morro
CruiserJul Posted June 22, 2014 Author #75 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Turret at El Morro We were back on board at 12:30. I had my fitbit with me and we walked 11,500 steps! We ate lunch on Lido and had no desire to go back out. DD and DS went to General Knowledge Trivia and won another Ship on a Stick. I did a load of laundry. DD and DS went to a History trivia but didn't do so well. We watched sailaway at 3:30 and got ready for the Past Guest Party which was from 4:15 to 5. The kids are not gold so they did not get invitations. I heard that they would probably let them in anyway but DS decided to look for his Club O2 friends and DD went to another trivia. The party was the usual entertainment and cheer for the ships you have been on but I was disappointed in the drink selection - as in there was no selection. The only drink they brought around was a rum punch - I guess there was rum in it. DH tipped a waiter $5 and we got a glass of wine and a whiskey. The appetizers were good though. Went back to get ready for dinner. We didn't go to the MDR this night since there was nothing that appealed to us. Plus, a lot of the selections were at the buffet. I had roasted pumpkin soup, salad and bread and cheese. I also had the chicken curry again. Sorry, I don't think we got pics of this meal. We then went to Harry Potter trivia since we are all fans, especially DD who has read and reread the books many times. This was held in the piano bar. While DD did well and got 19 out of 20, it wasn't good enough. She figured you would have to have a perfect score to win and she was right. I think DS split with us at this time or maybe before. Anyway we went to the Alchemy Bar again and did the martini tasting.. You get 4 mini martinis for $16. I chose from a paper menu/placemat which 4 I wanted. The bartender made the 4 but placed them down out of order. If I guessed which ones were which I got a prize. I guessed them all correctly and got a martini glass charm! DH went to the Johnny Walker tasting in the fun shops and DD and I went to Latin nights which we really enjoyed. We went to the casino again and I won a little on video poker. DH then went to the comedian, but I have such trouble staying awake that long even though I want to. But we had a full day so DD and I went to bed.
