lukeduke07 Posted June 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2014 I am looking to book an 8 day on the liberty and need to know if there is a deck I should avoid in a balcony room. For instance, not right below Lido due to noise. THANKS! Sent from my iPad using Forums

That is the rule I always use when booking.... I hope you have a wonderful cruise!!!

Agree, we have been booking Verandah deck on most of our cruises, midship balcony port side not to far from the Atrium. IMHO perfect location. serene56 Posted June 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Empress is your best choice. My area is around 7411 (cheaper then the cabin next door (7409) no across the hall neighbors. The grey area is where they store the fire doors. easy access to the stairs/elevators. Up two decks for food and pools down 2 decks for entertainment. only time you gotta travel is to the show lounge. on deck 8 you do not want to be under any kitchen areas.. avoid being under the pizza kitchen at all costs Edited June 13, 2014 by serene56

Rare Terre Posted June 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2014 And don't book over a lounge if you want to sleep before it closes! We made that mistake once.
KPfromCT Posted June 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Another vote for the Lido Deck. It is SO convenient to everything, and yet so quiet. Let us know what you decide.:D:D

Luvtoeat Posted June 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2014 We normally always make sure we have rooms above and below us but this time we have 2 balcony rooms on uppder deck for our August cruise. Our room is with the casino rate which so far has saved us about $300.00. I checked the deck plans to try and figure out what is below us and we are midship in a good location. Guess I will find out for sure when we sail.

runner15km Posted June 15, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 15, 2014 My two best locations were Empress Deck Aft and the 1st Cabin on Lido Deck, no neighbors to one side.

We have one for our cruise in two weeks. Our first suite and it is an Ocean Suite , not the Grand Suite. I took an upsell offer which I never do..............but I am glad I did. I always wanted to know what it was like to have all of that comparative space. CLOSETS.. How many? Walk In? Did it spoil you forever? So far we have sailed in everything but a Porthole and pretty much If I am on the ship and not at the Bow or the aft ( sea sick prone) I am happy as a tick. I am on the ship. Goal Achieved. but a Suite...........goodness. Whoever thought?

If you are in an odd cabin and over the casino bar area you will be in trouble. There is a band that sets up here at 9 pm and plays into the wee hours. You will get that music in your cabin
Shipbound Posted June 15, 2014 #17 Share Posted June 15, 2014 This past April I was on the Liberty deck Seven mid ship it was perfect, two decks up the lido deck and two decks down the promenade deck where the action is. No problems with noise. Gary

The open area has the standard three closets in regular rooms (two hanging areas and one stack of shelves). In the walk through closet/dressing area to the bathroom, you have another built-in set of shelves and a large double door hanging closet. In essence, you have double the closet space. Cruisin 4 Ever Posted July 15, 2014 #21 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Deck 7 is the perfect deck. All cabins below and above and much closer to the water than the high decks. I find it is the quietest deck.
iahawkize Posted July 16, 2014 #22 Share Posted July 16, 2014 As I don't know what your cabin preference is, I'll put my 2 cents worth in. 1)I had a 4J on the lido. It's categorized as an inside cabin BUT it has a window and faces out to "The Secret balcony" at the front of the ship. There is an upcharge over insides but it places the price similar to an Ocean view on the Main or Riviera decks. They are small UNLESS you can get 9202or9203 which are considered handicapped but usually you won't get bumped. 2) The Balcony cabins 9290-9294 are right near the entrance to the lido deck area and are still quiet. Great access to the lido & you can run down to the buffet early to get a quick continental breakfast to take back to our cabin, which I did daily. Go to http://www.beyondships.com/files/Liberty_Deck_Plan_PDF.pdf to see a deck plan which you can view better than the ones on the Carnival website
