BlueHerons Posted June 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2014 I know there is a thread above about latest pricing and such. My question is how do you use it?? Looking for POM Oct 3rd Sent from my iPhone using Forums Go to http://www.BetterBidding.com and http://www.BiddingForTravel.com and spend a couple of hours researching what you want, where you want it, and how to bid. Don't even think of trying to priceline a room without a good working knowledge of how it works and what could end up with. Good luck!

beerman2 Posted June 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2014 Crazycruiser Just be sure when using Priceline you get the correct zone and star level that you are comfortable with. You can get a good idea of the hotels available by first looking what is on there main page. I have had very good success eight PL.
eandj Posted June 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Crazycruiser You can get a good idea of the hotels available by first looking what is on there main page. . DO not look at all the hotels that Priceline offers on its site and think that you could get many of those. As BlueH said you need to go to betterbidding.com and first find the hotel list for Miami Downtown. Those are the hotels closest to the port. If that's what you are hoping for. There will be a few in all star levels. Remember that there are no refunds. So if you don't research, you can't complain with the "win". Too, PL can add or subtract a hotel at anytime to the list. Then you need to research what is the rack rate for the standard room at each hotel for your date. Then bid from there. For that date, I'd go for 40 % off the average price for starters. (in the like starred hotels from the hotel list) Personally... Because your date is in the very slow time, I would just book on lastminutetravel.com or join the LMTclub.com ( offered often for free) You can find several downtown hotels there on your date for under $120. Topicstarter, also take a look at http://www.biddingtraveler.com/ I quote: "How much to bid on Priceline, what hotels you could win, and the best bidding strategy to use. Everything you need to know about bidding for hotels in [..]." As others mentioned, there are other ways of getting a low priced hotel room without the cons of PL (the biggest of them being non refundable). So be sure! ;) Edited June 17, 2014 by FreestyleNovice
