CasinoCruzGirl Posted June 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Anyone get the invitation for the slot tournament on the Getaway for August 9th? Has anyone ever gone on a slot tournament cruise if so how was it? I'm debating. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Still considering taking offer. I thought so as well I'm on the breakaway for thanksgiving week out of NY and that is only coating us $1300 for 2 of us so doesn't sound right to me. Coastalbreezes Posted June 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2014 I've been on a couple of them. Lots of fun but keep in mind there will be many, many CAS cruisers on the ship and that can reduce some of your onboard comps. Tracy
Paddy41 Posted June 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2014 My husband and I were on a Carnival cruise that was through the player's club. We were in the slot tournament and there was also a poker tournament going on. The casino was crazy! You could not move in there and almost impossible to get a slot machine to play. We had to reserve our cabin through the player's club and they priced it according to how much you had spent in the casino on previous cruises. I did not feel it was a good deal. I could have paid less on early saver for a cabin but, as this was my first time doing this, I did not realize it until too late. This was probably not the same as what you are talking about. How it worked was that we won the slot tournament on a previous cruise and that's how we were invited to go on this particular cruise that had a bigger payout tournament. They set up 15 slot machines so we played in groups. I ended up in the last group, last machine, lowest score of the hundreds who were entered. What a loser I am! Won't do it again as I like to play slots but like some moving room.
Pappion Posted June 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2014 I got the postcard but we can't go that week. Hoping they do another one later in the year that we can take advantage of.
