ellamalta Posted July 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2014 Hello, Looked through all reviews but can't find anyone who has written a review about cruise on Lirica in the Med this year. Anyone please?
t60 Posted July 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Sadly there is lack of recent information on Lirica, we are sailing TA next year on her Sandy in Spain
AmoMondo Posted July 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Sorry, it's a few years since I've sailed on her. She is a hybrid between the older Armonia /Sinfonia & the newer Opera. She's a nice ship but a lot smaller than the Fantasia class.
ellamalta Posted July 6, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Thanks anyways! We are sailing on her in 10 days. Wanted some info re where ship docks etc. Today I tracked her in Toulon. She was supposed to dock in Marseille. Any idea why this could be?
Rare CruiseIreland Posted July 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2014 My nephew and his new wife honeymooned on Lirica last month. It is apparently the oldest ship in the fleet but they enjoyed it. They were seated at dinner with the only other English speaking couple on board. They embarked and disembarked in Mallorca. I don't have any more info yet. ellamalta Posted July 6, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Thanks for your reply Ken. We will be sailing from Malta together with a group of around 50, so there will be quite a few English Speaking guests on board. So wish to read a review before we go! andrewjb1 Posted July 7, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Hello Ella, My family and I spent a week on the Lirica June 7th to 14th. Over all good, staff were the best bit and all spoke English. Food was good, but second sitting was late for us 21.30. First at 7.00 felt too early. Marseille is the main turnaround port. You will find that a lot of the guests are French. Every announcement is in 5 languages, good in one sense but you do get to the point where you start wishing they would just say a little less to avoid having to repeat. Having the hear NOW ITS TIME FOR STRETCHING every morning in 5 languages got tiresome, especially when the word STRETCHING is the same in all the languages it seemed. Kind of wanted to say 'we get it.' The pool area was noisy. Very noisy. the PA was too loud. I was on the sister ship the Armonia in February and it was quieter. It was far more 'Club Med Fun' on the Lirica. As I said the staff were great especially the bar waiting staff. Any specific questions please please let me know. 726rosie Posted July 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Hi Ellamalta We sailed on the Lirica in March, the third time we have sailed on her. She is a small, but lovey ship, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. This is the link to our blog for the last Lirica cruise http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-blog/chris-roisin/14/tpod.html Enjoy your cruise :)
