Alonzo Lanza - an excellent guide

Me, DW and another couple were in Roatan last February. Never been there before, no idea what to expect etc. Planned to walk ashore and look around Coxen Hole and return to the ship. A short ways from the dock we met Alonzo, who offered to show us around the island for $20.00 apiece. We ended up being out for 6 hours, saw everything from one end of Roatan to the other. Had lunch in West End of shrimp, fish, beer and wine, total $20.00 for the 5 of us (of course we fed Alonzo). He was born in Coxen Hole, spoke excellent English, and couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating, plus he knew nearly everyone on the island! It turned out to be the best port stop on the cruise. I'm going back in November, and I'll be looking for Alonzo again.

Glad you had a good time. We just got back from a scuba trip and landed an island tour for $50 for 7 of us. Though I could have gone without seeing the area where the drugs are bought and sold near Coxen Hole.
