opinion on room

Let me start by saying that this will be our 8th cruise and we have never had more then a window, room is just not that important to us, the rest of the ship and ports are what we care about. First cruise on Carnival and we have a guaranteed IS. Now Carnival is offering a 4A with upgrade to 4G for the same price and the IS I booked is $50 per person more. Would I be better off asking to change to the 4A upgraded to 4G or keep it the way it is? There seems to be a lot of cabins available, probably a slow time for cruising, 12/3 Glory. Thank you, I know location is a big factor on these catagories, we have never been above deck 2 on any ship so there again location is not a factor.

Personally, if the 4A-4G upgrade isn't going to cost you any more money, I'd go for it. If it's going to cost more, just wait and take your chances. If the ship is selling slow, you will probably get some type of upgrade anyway.

Just my 2 cents :)

If you've booked the IS guarantee; you most likely will be put in an Inside cabin. Upgrades to OS cabins aren't as easy to come by as they were in the old days, especialy when booked with this promotion. I would take the upgrade and select your cabin location in 4G.

After sailing 4 times in an outside (window) cabin, we decided to save $$ and book 2 4A rooms on the Conquest (inside, Riviera deck). We were a little worried about being inside, but once we were on the ship, we really didn't miss that window too much. Whatever you decide, if you do end up in an inside room, you'll be fine. Just remember to set the alarm clock unless you want to wake up late (the room is dark!--great for sleeping, but no sunrise to wake you). :) And, before taking that free upgrade, check to see what's above and below the rooms on that deck. When we booked, they were offering a 2 deck upgrade, but that would have put us above the casino and I was worried about the noise. Decided to stay put on the quiet Riviera deck.
