I'm sailing in 12 days and have not received anything....do I start to panic? thank you When did you make the reservation? Did you use a TA? Are you flying in the day of the cruise? And using DCL transfers? Typically cruise documents are mailed out 30-45 days out from the cruise. I'd give DCL a call and see what they say. DCL doesn't have luggage tags that are printable from an online source. Are you flying in the day of the cruise? What airport? How are you getting to the port? Did you do your online checkin? nana541 Posted July 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2014 The TA can overnite them to you as it is her responsibility to get them to you prior to your leaving on your cruise! Call now and be insistent that they be overnights to you ASAP. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
moki'smommy Posted July 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2014 Your travel agent had the ability to specify whether DCL should send the documents to you or to the agency. Since they obviously specified the agency, it is their responsibility to get the documents to you. I would suggest that you contact them immediately and insist that they be overnighted to you. However....if all else fails, there is nothing in the documents that you NEED. DCL luggage tags are available at MCO (welcome center, lower level terminal B), from any WDW resort bell station, and from the porters at the cruise terminal. It is impossible to get to the ship without encountering at least one of those locations, regardless of which ship or port you will be using. The cruise documents that require your signature are available on line. You do your on line check in and print the signature sheet. And if all else fails, these are also available from the CMs at check in. Now, call your travel agent and tell him/her to do his/her job!

moki'smommy Posted July 22, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 22, 2014 This is y I use a Local TA and not a 800# If you used one The issue is not whether an agent is local (independent or part of a national network) or whether they work primarily on line or thru an 800 number. The issue is whether the agent and/or agency did their job. In this case, it appears that they did not. I used to use a local agency--from way back in the "before internet" days. Honestly, the local agency has nothing to offer me. The agents have never been on any of the DCL ships; some have not been to WDW. Yet, this agency is part of a national chain and because at least one person in the chain has done some level of the Disney training, there is a sign in the window proclaiming them to be Disney specialists. Honestly! I "interviewed" them and sat there while they had to look everything up on a computer screen. Now I use an agency in another state which has an 800 number, extended (evening and weekend) hours, works thru the phone or internet primarily, BUT has a real office and maintains a "please stop by if you are ever in our area" attitude. EVERY agent has been on one of the Disney ships within the last 2 years. Several have done ABD trips, several have cruised other lines that they sell, etc. They have many years of experience (not some newbie on a smart phone). And in addition to their great service, I get a nice OBC. OK, in fairness, they were the third "800 number" I tried because I really didn't like the first 2. And I probably only tried them because I'd met one of their people on an earlier cruise. BUT the problem isn't internet/800 vs. local. The problem is a great agent/agency vs. a dud. DISNEY FANTASY Posted July 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 23, 2014 I have an excellent DCL TA nearly always available if they are not going to be around they e Mail all their clients in advance with there times opening. I get a good OBC. So that's one and I have two other DCL TAs as Facebook friends who also " over service" their clients. mdvlprof Posted July 24, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) Have 2 TAs. One knows Disney. Is fantastic about Disney. But not so great about non-Disney. So - other one handles non-Disney stuff. Met her first as non-TA. Edited July 24, 2014 by mdvlprof
moki'smommy Posted July 24, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I'd love to have a great TA who will give us great service (OBC, 24 hour emergency contact, whatever), but we've never been able to find one. I have a great one--full service agency, but specializes in Disney/DCL. They are totally amazing AND give me a nice OBC for booking with them. Sorry, but we aren't allowed to name agencies/agents here. And I have no idea how the PM function works as I can not open the 3 I supposedly have! Well, except if a moderator or host wants to send you a PM. But, that's OK. I'm fine with doing my own bookings. We still put out feelers for TAs now and then, and we may find one someday. I'm pretty sure I'd be happiest with a brick & mortar type, I'm a face-to-face sort of person. Edited July 24, 2014 by Shmoo here
moki'smommy Posted July 24, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Well, that would explain why I can't open the things....The agency I use IS brick and mortar. They are just located in another state and do business with ME either over the phone or on line. While most of their clients are not where they are located, they have an open invitation out for any who happen to visit there. I have met a couple of the "gang" while on a cruise. When they have a lot of clients on a particular cruise, the owner of the agency or one of the agents will often cruise. And they work HARD to meet us in person, etc. While they obviously have some down time, they really do work while on the cruise. I was impressed! They will have a list of cabin numbers and table assignments, and make sure that they meet anyone they haven't previously....one time they did custom magnets which appeared on our doors, etc.

first_timer2 Posted July 24, 2014 Author #20 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I called my TA and they said, "well I don't know what happened to the documents, they were sent out on the 3rd of July" Ok, now I don't have the docs and they are telling me I can do it on DCL website as they now have online documents. I follow what she told me, and I still don't see the documents. So I either call screaming at them, or just go with the flow and print out the signature documents and get my tags at the port. I'm just upset as I wish I could leave with my mind at ease. I just hope I don't run into problems at the port. I'm coming in the night before, staying at the hyatt grand cypress and getting to the port by rental car. I will be so stressed now!
nana541 Posted July 24, 2014 #21 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Your TA needs to print them out and over nite them and BTW I say BS that she mailed them out! OR - tell her to call DCL and have them overnite new docs to you! There is still time.... My BS meter is screaming ;) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I'm coming in the night before, staying at the hyatt grand cypress and getting to the port by rental car. I will be so stressed now! OK, take a deep breath and destress. Go on line to the DCL web site, then to on line registration. If you don't see it, call DCL and they will walk you thru it. DO the on line check in, and the last thing is the signature page. Print this and the financial responsibility page. Sign them and bring them with you BUT if you don't, there are copies available at the terminal. The baggage tags are easy. You don't NEED the till you get to the port because you are driving. When you get to the terminal, the porters are right there to greet you. Tell them your cabin number an that you don't have the tags. They will take tags out of their pocket, write your cabin number on it (usually after verifying it on their list) and you are on your way into the terminal to check in. SERIOUSLY, not having the documents will make NO difference at all. We have booked too close to the cruise to have docs sent (Thursday for a Sat cruise). It is not a problem. EASY. DCL makes everything easy for the guest and backs up their policies so that they can cover ALMOST anything. If you arrive without your IDs, you are dead in the water. Otherwise, almost anything can be worked out. I strongly suspect that they are sitting somewhere in that agent's office. She could also pay the $25 fee to have DCL print another set and send them to you since SHE did not complete her responsibility to get them to you. YOU should not pay this fee. And if nothing else, she could print the two signature forms on HER computer at the office and send them to you (that doesn't get the luggage tags, but at least represents a little effort on her part). nana541 Posted July 24, 2014 #23 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Did you log into you DCL acct while you had her on the phone.... Do it now... Alternately if you call DCL tell them your TA is jerking you around they should be able to at least tell you how to find the docs online! Still think your TA is full of it! AT the very least, she should have offered to print out the docs and send them to you. DCL will help you with the web site whether you have a TA or not. Again, deep breath, you will be fine.
